1) I think that EUA and Venezuela can win again. Not easy, really, because, how you said, Trump is a business-man, and repeat the countries is not a good idea in times where the Orgs have problems to convince countries and Governments to host the contests. Why a Government would pay 5 millions of dollars for elect other Venezuela or USA girl? Stay tuned, Trump!
2) Yes, the X factor for Brazilian girls since 2011 is the country be a host-country. But... that's not the only factor. Trump never choose a girl who cannot make the job correctly. If this would be so, Brazil would have won before.
3) Brazil will host the MU soon, so I think will win in home. This is good for the audiences and the Marketing of the MUO in Brazil. This is the factor against Melissa.
4) Phils - I think that Lastimosa is in the battle. No, she have not "the face", but have the other factors: dynamism, speaks english, a good body, intelligence... Look the last Miss USA. They are choosing like the Miss America: not the most beautiful, but the a girl who have more for do and speak in social areas (don't forget that the MUO is working in favor of the victims of typhoon Yolanda in Phils).
5) The racism question: en 98 an 99 we have to black girls so, this is not a central question for me. Angola won not why she was a black girl, but in a country who people speak Portuguese, this was a question with more importance. Yes, in Brazil the question was put so: "a 'Portuguese girl', for the Portuguese countries". Marketing!
6) Japan was other case of Marketing with the "x factor": the Mikimoto crown. After the win of Riyo, the crown was changed. 

But, don't forget: X factors here or there, never a girl is elected without other important factors.
