“Beauty fades and it is your heart that influences people’s lives” these are the words of Miss World 2014 Rolene Strauss.

News 1st caught up with Miss World 2014 Rolene Strauss in an exclusive interview on Saturday.

Question : So, beauty comes with a purpose, do you believe in this ?

Rolene Strauss : I have seen that if you meet someone, they would rather become more beautiful or less beautiful. Yes, the first impact. First impact, the first impression is important. But the heart comes out the heart makes the beauty flow outwards and at the end of the day what gets left behind is – beauty fades and its about your heart and how you influence peoples lives and how you make a change. So we live by with the same -beauty with a purpose.

Question : If there is one word what will you call Sri Lanka?

Rolene Strauss : I would say Sri Lanka cares. As soon as I arrived in the airport the people were so excited to see you . They gave flowers, we had drums we had. You know at the end of the day, a country is made by its people, yes by its beauty as well it captures someone, but people makes the visitors want to come back. So, I would say that Sri Lanka cares.
