BANGLADESH MADE MISS WORLD HISTORY

As we look forward to our Beauty With A Purpose Project Presentation later today, we thought we'd catch up with another Head to Head Challenge Winner who has done her country proud.

After a record 2.2 billion views and 20 million votes by members of the public, in a captivating finale of the Head to Head challenge, a shortlist of 20 candidates took to the stage with 90 seconds to present to a panel of judges the work they are doing in their home countries to support Beauty With A Purpose.
We got a moment to catch up with

Jannatul Ferdaus OISHEE - Miss Bangladesh who received high praise from the judges, securing her a place in the top 30 for the Miss World 2018 final.

Born in a country which became independent in1971 she expressed:
"I am very proud of the history of my country and proud to be an ambassador for Bangladesh.This is only the second time Bangladesh has competed at Miss World and the first time making top 30"
She further explained her desire to do something for children with medical conditions such as autism.
Now Miss Bangladesh is standing proud representing her country.The support of everyone around her is motivating her to do it.

She ended with graciously saying how amazing she felt recievig votes from all three judges:
"I am so grateful for this opportunity. I want to go ahead, build and get better.
I don't know how far I'll go in this competition and what's going to happen in the grandfinale. But I am very happy that I have represented my country"

It's TRUE to say Miss Bangladesh has made a great impression on everyone who have embraced the love of her culture, her country songs sung to entertain fellow contestants on the coach and her country's history.
A triumphant victory for Miss Bangladesh securing a place in the top 30.

Head to Head Challenge | Historical Moment

Last night’s Head To Head Challenge ended on a historical moment when representative Quiin ABENAKYO from Uganda secured a place in the top 30 for Miss World 2018.

This is a monumental moment for Uganda as they have secured a place in the top 30 for the first time in Miss World history.

Miss Uganda had no words to express how she was feeling, in her own words she expressed:

"I am very proud and humbled for having done this for my country"

Uganda's Beauty with a Purpose project is fighting teenage pregnancies.

1 in 4 adolescent girls ages 14 to 19 either have a child or pregnant. This has led to school dropouts, health complications like fistula, some girls are banished from home leaving them helpless.

Quiin ABENAKYO further expressed:

"I believe they all have dreams and goals to achieve. My objective is to put into action my Beauty with a Purpose project using the opportunity given to me by the Miss Uganda foundation and Miss World Organisation to achievably bring to the fore front of the world stage causes that promote the sanity of human life especially the girl child "

Everyone present were inspired by this moment to see Uganda's Beauty with a Purpose project recognised, supporting to equip and skill the girl child so that they can reach their full potential, through the keep the girl child in school campaign.

A lovely end to a special event.

TODAY AT MISS WORLD | 2018

After careful deliberation and viewing of all multimedia videos from the contestants for two separate awards, a panel of Miss World Multimedia Experts including Mr Tang - deputy chief of Sanya Tourism came to a decision on who would be in the top 5 for the Sanya tourism video award based on creative content, use of various editing software and displaying knowledge of Sanya.
The 2nd was the overall Multimedia Award based on all social media platforms, audience engagement, creative content and influence.

Our Miss World 2018 Sanya Tourism Video Challenge results are in, here are your top 5.
