Alice Li is an entrepreneur, businesswoman, and a believer in dreams. She currently works as a Senior Associate in audit at PwC Canada, specializing in the asset management industry. Alice graduated from the University of Toronto as the Class Valedictorian and has completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies in accounting. She recently qualified for her CPA CA professional designation this year, and looks forward to using it as a tool of empowerment. Her goal is to show other women that there is a seat for them in the boardroom too.

When Alice is not crunching numbers at the office, you can find her busking on the streets of Toronto and performing to raise funds for charity. What started as a childhood dream has now turned into an established charity project, making headlines all over the world. For Alice, this was a perfect way to continue doing what she loved, while giving back to children in need.

An entrepreneur, she founded a nonprofit jewelry brand that donates all proceeds to charity. She named it the “Modern Princess” to exhibit that beauty is both inside and out. Not only will you look beautiful wearing her jewelry, but you will also feel beautiful for supporting a good cause! Alice is also a strong advocate in the healthcare industry and passionate about improving the lives of others. She serves as a board member on the William Osler Health Foundation’s Future Leaders Board, which oversees the Etobicoke General, Peel Memorial, and Brampton Civic hospitals.

Alice wants to demonstrate the difference one person can make and inspire others to be their best selves. With 9 years of pageant experience behind her, Alice represented Canada internationally at Miss Intercontinental 2018, where she won the talent category. Today, she comes ready not only for Miss Universe Canada, but ready for Miss Universe.

Lovepreet Sidhu

Lovepreet Sidhu was born and raised in Brampton, Ontario. She will be entering her fourth year as an Honours Political Science student at Wilfrid Laurier University. Currently, she works as a receptionist/administrative assistant at Sidhu Traffic Tickets. She also models part-time and has worked with several photographers, shops/boutiques, and has walked in fashion shows in Toronto.

Political Science is a program that Lovepreet holds dear because she is constantly learning about various political affairs taking place across the world. She is very passionate about voicing political concerns that are often neglected due to the lack of awareness and interest shown by the general population. Aside from modelling, she is looking to pursue a career in law as either a paralegal or lawyer to help those facing injustice or difficult situations receive the aid they need. As a component of one of her courses, she was required to volunteer her time in an organization that demonstrates crime prevention strategies. The organization she chose was St. John’s Kitchen in Kitchener, Ontario. During her time there she interacted with several individuals who were victims of poverty, crime, and inadequacies within the criminal justice system. This opened her eyes to the importance of educating herself and others about such prevalent issues occurring in the community.

Becoming a successful model would a dream come true for Lovepreet. She is grateful for the opportunities she has received thus far and only hopes to grow from there! She has walked in fashion shows in Toronto and has done commercial work for local stores and businesses. Lovepreet has worked with renowned Bollywood designers including Payal Singhal, Dinesh Ramsay, Rajat Tangri, and Nupur Kanoi. She was also a part of the University of Toronto’s ‘Back to School’ campaign in 2018.

Miss Universe Canada is Lovepreet’s first pageant and though that comes with new challenges, she is certain that this opportunity will only catalyze her dreams and ambitions. She hopes to make the most of this pageant and open doors for other girls who want to pursue their dreams in this industry but just need a little push!

Rita Houkayem

Rita considers herself a global citizen, a public servant and a humanitarian. With a Master’s Degree in International Affairs and a Bachelors in International Development Studies, French and Political Science, her continuous exposure to world issues have passionately driven her to make a difference in improving people’s lives.

Her international student experience in Paris had exposed her to like-minded changemakers and current and future global leaders. She was also hired by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as an international development consultant to provide support in programs and publications on gender equality and comprehensive sexuality education in schools, striving to achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3, 4 and 5. As an intersectional feminist, Rita’s experience with the UN has shaped her into a fierce advocate for gender equality and equity.

Rita is currently working for the Government of Canada as a Policy Analyst focusing on various themes and programs related to Internet governance and Information and Communications Technologies (ICT). She was also recently nominated as the Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA+) focal point for her Sector. She is responsible for helping ensure that Canadian policies and programs being drafted and implemented under her Sector must always consider all Canadians’ needs (from all races, ethnicities, religions, genders, age etc.) and how they affect groups of Canadians differently to prevent inequity and ensure their empowerment. RIta recently co-led a government-organized event to participate in the United Nations GIRLS IN ICT DAY, encouraging high school girls to consider careers in ICTs and create social impact through digital technologies. She believes that technology is a powerful catalyst to driving inclusive and sustainable growth but women’s participation is fundamental and hopes to help bridge the gender digital divide.

Rita’s globetrotting nature, adventurous spirit and polyglot skills have been enriched through her constant encounters with dazzling cultures, remarkable people and astonishing places. She has explored over 25 countries and over 60 major cities but has never felt so proud to be Canadian. Rita is currently a Chin Radio Host, Canada’s multicultural multilingual radio station, where she interviews influential individuals that are making an impact in her community. On a weekly basis, she highlights on CTV Morning Live Ottawa the various multicultural events taking place across the city. Rita believes that Canada’s beauty and strength is characterized by its diversity and its cultural mosaic should always be celebrated!

In fact, Rita attributes her cosmopolitan identity to being born in Canada and raised in one of the most strikingly diverse cities in the world, Toronto, which has always allowed her to celebrate her dual heritage as a proud Canadian Lebanese. Rita is an active individual in her community, often found promoting her culture and connecting with her diasporic community through various community events, speaking opportunities and international trips. She is also the United Nations DPI/NGO Representative for her cultural organization and promotes its initiatives at the UN platform. Rita is fluent in English, French and Arabic and conversational Spanish.

Rita has had various opportunities to represent Canada at various pageants nationally and abroad. She recently represented Canada at Reinado Internacional del Cafe 2019 – Colombia’s second largest pageant – and brought back the People’s Choice award. Rita has also been on the other side of the pageant world. At only 22, she was the National Director for the Miss Emigrant Canada pageant where she mentored young beautiful ladies to proudly represent their heritage on stage and become active agents of their community. Besides volunteering and spending time with her loved ones, Rita maintains a healthy and active lifestyle through daily cycling, dancing, marathoning, hiking, martial arts and hot yoga.

A recipient of the Humanitarian Award and a global ambassador for SOS Children’s VIllages – the largest charity organization for orphaned and abandoned children – Rita has managed to raise over $50,000 over the years for the aforementioned organization. Her recent trip to Lebanon and the important partnership she has built with SOS Lebanon will focus on empowering vulnerable mothers to help them meet the immediate needs of their children in the short term, while developing their capacity to meet the needs of their children independently over the long term. Rita is a firm believer that investing in the youth and women through education, tech and entrepreneurship is key to a peaceful just world.

Cailyn Prins

Cailyn Prins grew up in the small town of Durham, Ontario. Cailyn is 23 years old and has dual citizenship with Canada and the Netherlands. Her desire to experience more of her Dutch heritage inspired her to attain her bachelor’s degree in Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics at the University of Amsterdam. Currently, Cailyn is pursuing her J.D. in law at the University of Toronto. Education is a priority for Cailyn, and one day she hopes become a lawyer working within the field of human rights.

One of Cailyn’s interests is traveling the world and experiencing new cultures. She has visited a number of different countries and hopes to see many more in the future. While studying abroad, Cailyn travelled to areas such as France, Denmark, Greece, Germany and Ireland. One of her favourite experiences was visiting China in high school. Cailyn was impressed by China’s welcoming people, incredible food and beautiful mountains. Cailyn believes travelling is an exciting way to learn about other parts of the world in an experiential format. Her passion for travel and exploration has fueled her desire to work in international law and focus on legal practices that transcend national boundaries.
Cailyn’s other interests include practicing violin, sketching, painting, and staying active. Striking a balance between health and studies is very important to her, and she tries to make time for physical activity five times a week. Cailyn is a strong believer in the positive effects that healthy eating and physical fitness can have on a person’s confidence and mental health. She enjoys participating in a number of physical activities such as pilates, yoga, jogging, skipping and dance. She is always willing to try new physical activities and loves a new way to challenge herself. A goal of Cailyn’s is to participate in a half marathon this summer.

Volunteerism represents another important component of Cailyn’s life. In furtherance of her interest in human rights law, Cailyn has worked with organizations such as Amnesty International and Free the Children. She also works as a member of the International Human Rights Program at her university, which allows her to conduct legal research and update reports on human rights violations pertaining to sexual orientation and gender identity. Volunteering represents to Cailyn an opportunity to participate in the community and to make a difference, however large or small.

Cailyn is very proud to be participating in the Miss Universe Canada pageant this year. She has enjoyed preparing for the pageant and is excited to be among the many other qualified and diverse delegates on the Miss Universe Canada stage this year.

Sam Sing

Sam is a fierce magnetic force to be reckoned with! She likes to strike people with her energy! She has irrevocable unwavering faith in Jesus! She is the epitome of a powerful, confident, intelligent, successful, eloquent and sophisticated young woman. Her contagious laugh, witty sense of humour and extroverted personality illuminates every room she enters.

Sam is a 23 year old entrepreneur, philanthropist, environmentalist and animal rights activist. She was raised in Cambridge, Ontario and this South American born is an ethnic infusion of part Guyanese and Dutch. Her family migrated to Canada when she was two years old and received her citizenship subsequently. Sam feels that as a minority she is the sum of Canada’s welcoming diversity and hopes to be a symbol of endless possibilities.

Sam has always had an avid love for business and established her first corporation at the age of 20 years old. She grew up with a single mother in low income housing and accounts her turbulent upbringing that has instilled in her a relentless drive to excel. She currently owns a marketing company and is a serial entrepreneur. She invests in real estate, forex and crypto currency. Only in her early 20’s and she already owns a few properties under her belt. This little lady loves investing!

Sam is deeply passionate about philanthropy work. If there is one fact she would want anyone to know about her it would be that she loves Jesus! She is an audaciously faith filled woman of God who has a genuine heart postured to serve. She loves to encourage and pour into others, make them smile and laugh! A few times a year Sam leads missions trips with her church and volunteers in third world countries in extreme poverty. At that time they aid to serve the local community and orphanages in the vicinity with sufficient relief, build schools and teach English. She is also involved at home in local outreach programs in Waterloo Region and the GTA. Sam has travelled to near 20 countries now and it has taught her to view the world through an opulent lens of empathy. She is always fascinated at the immense need for provision in a world that is the wealthiest it has ever been. One thing she is frequently reminded of is the volume of blessings people take for granted. Sam feels many countries may have a surplus of finances however they are in an emotional famine. Being able to witness what depletion looks like has been one of the most humbling experiences she has had and has inspired her to cultivate a solution. Sam is currently in the process of launching her first non profit organization catered towards international humanitarian efforts. They will be known for:

1. Ministry Efforts – Building sustainable living environments for orphans while sharing Jesus’ love.

2. Environmentalism – Implementing knowledge to the essential demand for urgent climate change.

3. Animal Rights Activism – Being a voice to the voiceless and infiltrate vast awareness regarding the unnecessary cruelty animals endure for human consumption and pleasure.

Winning the title of Miss Universe Canada 2019 would enable Sam to harness the resources and platform to establish her non profit on a global scale. She fearlessly looks forward to being an ambassador for Canada at the Miss Universe event.

Sam has been modelling professionally since her childhood. When she is not occupied with photo shoots Sam loves to cook. She is a self proclaimed master chef who cooks and bakes all her decadent meals from scratch. Sam would love to host a cooking show on Food Network someday! Sam has a pure charm for pranking her family and friends and will capitalize on every opportunity she has to hide and scare others and she is remarkably gifted at her jarring abilities. Sam was always a rambunctious little girl and channeled her exuberant spirit into dancing, lots of dancing, playing soccer and ice skating. For fun Sam enjoys, travelling, reading, working on personal development, deep house music, yoga, fireworks, sunsets and being outdoors surrounded by nature. She is immensely spontaneous and perpetually intrigued by adventure!

Sam hopes to invigorate others and generations to come that anything is possible if you have faith in yourself, focus and preserve. One of Sam’s favourite quotes is “No one is you and that is your power – Dave Grohl.” Her commitment is to continually evolve, become the best version of herself and contribute to orchestrating the world to be a better place. Christina Logan

Christina Logan is a 24-year-old Toronto resident who grew up in Georgina, Ontario. She strives to live an active lifestyle filled with creativity, adventure and friendships. While pursuing a career as a professional dancer, Christina is currently employed as a sales associate at Fresh Home and Garden.

Christina is devoted to promoting the Arts in Canada. As an engaged patron of the Toronto Arts community, she volunteers in local dance organizations and contributes monetarily to dance start-ups. Recognizing a shortfall in the industry, Christina advocates for funding the Arts by encouraging voters to ensure the community’s needs are met at all levels of government. She attended a government-sponsored specialized arts high school, and then completed her Honors Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performance Dance at York University. These opportunities allowed Christina to study under Toronto’s leading dance professionals, and offered extensive performance opportunities. Establishing herself as a choreographer, her pieces were praised by audiences and professionals alike. She was a member of the York Dance Ensemble, and participated in shows across the Toronto area. During her third year of University, she completed a year abroad at Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland, one of the top dance programs in the USA. During her tenure, she was offered a role in a dance short film, “It Goes Without Saying,” which has been featured at the California ISFF, winning Best Experimental Short, and more recently was accepted to the Paris Short Film Festival.

Christina is an avid independent world traveler who recently backpacked for eight months, cherishing the sights and amazing cultures this world has to offer. This adventure taught her to be independent, self-sufficient and curious. Traveling made the concept of environmental conservation and one’s environmental footprint important to Christina. In every job she holds, she has instated recycling programs which she would like to develop further.

Pageants have assisted Christina to develop personally and professionally. During her initial competition as a teenager, she discovered that a title was more than a crown. Fundraising for passion projects and advocating for bullying legislation made her a leader in her community. This encouraged her to pursue other pageants to expand her outreach and sponsorships, at one point representing ONEnergy – a Toronto-based company dedicated to providing corporations with renewable energy resources. Their initiative was a lesson in the importance of protecting our environment and living greener. Most recently, she participated in a pageant in China, where she improved her modeling skills, experienced the fascinating Chinese and Inner Mongolian cultures, and made wonderful life-long friendships.

Christina believes in education, awareness, and compassion. She continually challenges herself by staying on top of current events, and gets involved locally. In her youth, Christina volunteered at her church, and was a volunteer dance instructor. Faith allowed her to develop a deep love for service, and she became a leader at a Christian camp, volunteering her summers for three years. Mini-Yo-We was where she learned to guide young women from all walks of life, and to encourage kindness, empathy and service in youth. While dealing with her own past abuse, she found that connecting with children helped heal her trauma. This made Christina a feminist, speaking out for equality and women’s rights, while advocating for victims. Christina strives to live a healthy, pure lifestyle, respecting her body through nutrition and fitness and her soul through strong moral values and convictions. Miss Universe Canada 2019 is a platform where Christina hopes to share her life experience and her talents, to further engage in community service in Canada and abroad. Christina feels blessed and humbled to represent her family and community on the Miss Universe Canada stage.

Tanja Grubnic

Passionate about feminist research, Tanja Grubnic has her sights set high on completing her PhD and becoming a great professor. Her dissertation examines the devaluation of women’s artistic work and cultural production in today’s society, with an emphasis on women writers. Beginning her undergraduate studies in English Literature, she went on to graduate with a Masters in Cultural Studies and Critical Theory. She wrote her thesis on the power of popular culture, media, and celebrity in influencing the ways in which gender and national identity are experienced in society.

Driven to live life in its highest sense, this 28 year old has learned to embrace her open-minded, resourceful and curious nature to step outside of her comfort zone, challenge tradition and reach beyond perceived limits. Physical fitness, especially yoga, has helped Tanja gain the inner strength and patience necessary to creatively express her truest and greatest self. Off of her mat, Tanja loves to journal, collect inspiring quotations, travel, and spend time with loved ones.

Her mother, brother, and father have all lived with disease and disability. Though initially holding her back, bearing witness to their unique experiences has increasingly inspired Tanja to live a more open and positive life full of gratitude in her heart. Entering Miss Universe Canada stems from her desire to channel her personal story into a universal message that inspires people to see the true beauty in everyday life. No matter what life throws at you, she illustrates that you can be your own best self-advocate through practicing gratitude, sharing kindness, and honouring your dreams.

Using her passion for writing and public speaking, Tanja dreams of producing and hosting her own motivational documentary or talk show series one day. She has always felt a calling to publish a book, and hopes to leave an impact by exploring issues that are timely and relevant to Canadian society as well as the world at large. As a feminist spokesperson, Tanja is driven to spread a message that underlines the need for women to stop apologizing for their femininity, and to instead start feeling empowered in their feminine strengths while breaking down ideologies of gender and power in the workplace.

Above all, Tanja is looking forward to participating in this year’s Miss Universe Canada competition, and is excited to experience all that this once in a lifetime opportunity has to offer.

Roxanne Bilski

Roxanne is a 26-year-old first generation Polish-Canadian born and raised in Chatham, a rural community in Southwestern Ontario. This small town girl is pursuing her big city dreams, and now lives and works in downtown Toronto. Roxanne is currently working for a start-up food tech company called ChefHero, as a senior lead in Customer Success. Her role is a mix of customer service, account management, and sales.

Aside from her full-time work in the food tech space, Roxanne is also modeling and acting part-time. You can find her strutting on the runway at various fashion shows in Toronto, posing at photoshoots, and acting on set of various commercials, films, television shows and Netflix series being filmed in Toronto and surrounding areas.

Roxanne holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice & Public Policy (C.J.P.P.), graduating with Distinction in 2015. She was recognized on the Dean’s List each semester for having obtained an average of 80% or higher during her full-time studies. Roxanne continued her studies at the University of Guelph, completing her Master of Arts in Criminology & Criminal Justice Policy (C.C.J.P.) in 2016. She received a generous scholarship to complete her Masters at the University of Guelph, and during her studies, was nominated by the Department of Political Science and awarded for the Board of Graduate Studies Research Scholarship. Throughout her university career, Roxanne was a member of the All-Girl Level 6 competitive cheerleading team, a student mentor for the Criminal Justice & Public Policy Academic Mentorship Program (C.A.M.P.), a volunteer note taker for the Centre for Students with Disabilities (CSD), a Graduate Teaching Assistant for various undergraduate political science courses, and a Graduate Research Assistant.

Roxanne advocates for living a healthy and active lifestyle. You can find her crushing her fitness goals at boot camp three to four times a week, channeling her inner Roxy Balboa at boxing, running along Toronto’s Lakeshore, and finding her Zen at hot yoga. Health and fitness has provided Roxanne with an outlet to challenge herself physically and mentally.

Roxanne also loves to travel and has visited over a dozen countries, including Poland, Germany, Hungary, Austria, France, and China, among others. She is keen to explore, meet new people, try new foods and immerse herself in diverse cultures.

Raven Thiara

Raven Thiara is the eldest of three, born in New Westminster, British Columbia. A first generation Canadian, raised by a mother who immigrated from Punjab, India. Her traditional upbringing yielded strong family values and relationships with both her younger siblings. A deep interest in modeling contrasted with this conservative culture but taught Raven independence and perseverance as she garnered opportunities to model for a number of designers from Vancouver, Los Angeles, and India. Raven paired her modeling abilities with her philanthropic endeavors by walking runways for numerous charity organizations such as Children of the Street Society and the BC Cancer Society. The confidence gained through modeling and the dedication learned through volunteerism naturally led her into the world of pageantry.

Aside from the aforementioned interests, academics have always been of importance, becoming multilingual at a young age through French immersion encouraged Raven’s love for linguistics. Because she enjoys a challenge, Raven transitioned into the rigorous French immersion international baccalaureate program for her high school education. Through this passion for education Raven was provided early acceptance to The University of British Columbia. In university, Raven studied political science with a focus on international relations and social justice. Upon graduation, Raven continued to pursue her passion for education through her graduate research; which works to counter the fundamental claim underlying current free trade regulations that insists unrestricted international trade is conducive to equal productive growth for all participants. Instead, Raven argues that current free trade regulations have facilitated and exacerbated the commodification and trade of human bodies for the purpose of sex-trafficking by establishing trade infrastructure in politically volatile and vulnerable regions of the world. Subsequently enticing developing economies to participate in markets with unfair competition levels. Raven deduces that the consequences of these skewed trade agreements include the destruction of the sustenance economies of these developing nations while increasing the economic divide between developed and developing. Through historical and statistical analysis, her research concludes that the globalization and the liberalization of markets at such an unprecedented level has led to the increased commodification and trafficking of female bodies. Raven’s research has presented her with exciting opportunities, including an invitation to a private conference held by The Nature Conservancy; where she was provided a seat to speak on issues of international importance alongside heads of industry and leading members of Canada’s political arena. Through this experience, Raven learned the importance of using the privileges and power of the corporate world to foster social change through thoughtful altruistic endeavors.

In her professional life, Raven is a growth consultant, working with executives in a range of disciplines (from the entertainment industry to the natural resources sector) to create inclusive, productive workplaces through cultural sensitivity training and internal restructuring. Her profession has taught her to make wise investments in appreciating assets such as real estate, that have in turn provided returns used to improve the lives of her family and community (through volunteer work, fundraising and direct donations). With her diverse resume, Raven hopes to share her experiences with others, teaching the importance of financial literacy to foster a generation of wise, independent women who understand the importance of corporate responsibility and giving back to one’s community.

Natasha maintained an A average throughout high school and she achieved the Gold Scholar award upon graduation. As a result of her dedication towards education and volunteer involvement in her community she was awarded the Dean’s Academic Excellence Scholarship in Science for her undergraduate studies at Simon Fraser University. She firmly believes that it is not what you do in life, but how you do it. Only by challenging yourself can you be your best. For the past six years, Natasha has been volunteering for a young girls empowerment program, helping instil confidence, setting goals, living a healthy lifestyle and being physically active. Recently, she was accepted as a volunteer at the Royal Columbian Hospital Emergency room for a nine-month term. Natasha has been actively involved with many fundraising charity events such as: Operation Smile, Variety the Children’s Charity, Free the Children, The Children’s Wish Foundation and SOS Children’s Villages.

Shawdi was born in Iran with her loving and supportive family, who guarded her against facing gender-based adversities. Ever since immigrating to Canada at the age of 15, she has experienced two vastly different societal states with regards to the way that women were treated. Witnessing these contrasting values inspired her to contribute to the emancipation of voiceless women through defying the female stereotypes and becoming successful in the technology field.

To Shawdi, education has always been a way of empowerment; therefore, she always puts a great emphasis on it. Her passion and enthusiasm for technology drew her towards the world of coding, circuits, physics, and engineering. She has decided to pursue Electrical engineering at the University of British Columbia. Because of her interest in the health care field, she then chose the option of Biomedical, just to get the best of both worlds: medicine and engineering. One of Shawdi’s goals is to improve the health care system of Canada through her knowledge and devotion to technology. Because she believes that intention without action is pointless, she has decided to act and make an impact through research and design. Shawdi and her team started working on a neuroscience project at the University of British Columbia. They are working towards the development of a software app that can diagnose Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Outside her busy schedule, meditating, fitness, dancing, modelling, and rollerblading, are the things that Shawdi enjoys doing. She has been belly-dancing for almost 10 years and has performed for different purposes; either for competitions or fundraising events. Fitness is also a passion of hers since it promotes health and discipline. Combined with modelling, fitness has enabled her confidence to flourish.

She believes that individuality is people’s biggest assets and as a result, she always stays authentic to herself and her background. She understands that people are diverse in their own ways and she has embraced her own uniqueness and uses that as her strength in life. Her sense of ambition, courage, dedication, and fearlessness of failure are the things that keep her hungry for more achievements and accomplishments regardless of how arduous the experiences may be.

Despite having a great life with a lot of achievements, a year ago Shawdi felt that she was not living to her full potential. When exploring the ways in which she could have positive impacts in her society on a bigger scale, she realized that pageantry could be a great option, since it is a great way of empowerment and self-improvement. After winning the title of Miss Greater Vancouver in 2018, however, she realized that she needed a bigger platform to touch more people’s lives through her own experiences. Therefore, by competing in Miss Universe Canada, she will not only have a bigger platform to share what she has in her heart with people but also make Canada proud.

Grace Diamani was born in Quebec City but raised in Ontario and, is the last of 6 children. She grew up not only in a big family but in a multicultural environment. In fact, one of the many social issues that is dear to her heart is violence against women and children. In DR Congo, her country of origin, rape and violence against women are used as weapons of war. This inspired her to pursue a degree in Sociology at Carleton University in hopes of one day being able to counsel those in needs and work towards finding better ways to handle social conflicts.

Although she is a still a student, Grace’s passion for fashion and modelling not only got her to work in fashion retail but also got her to book a few jobs here and there in the industry. One of her most memorable moments was when she was named Miss Grand Canada 2018 and got to travel to Myanmar to represent the country in the international competition. It was an opportunity of a lifetime which perfectly correlated with her love of travel. Her most recent trip was to Mexico. Whenever possible, she likes to explore the world and connect with people to discuss diversity, self-empowerment, refine her knowledge of exotic teas or even debate about Marvel movies!

Her passion for the arts is expressed by her working as an art teacher for young children, and Deanna also takes classical ballet lessons in her spare time. Deanna owns a design business called Royal Canadian Design, to unite and launch various creative projects. She is also a very accomplished visual fine artist.

Deanna enjoys fashion and modelling. She has created a broad product line of designer fascinators that she sells online and in stores. She arranges her own photoshoots for her products with models – and models herself for them as well sometimes. While attending Western University, she helped organize a major fashion show in London to raise funds for Free the Children as the advertising executive. She helped in the Public Relations and launch for Canada’s Next Top Model in 2017. She has also been a registered model through Orange Model Management and has worked with such brands as Mercedes-Benz.

Deanna has been painting since before she could write. She is inspired by painting about nature and innocence. She is an accomplished fine artist, designated as a professional artist under the Canada Arts Council. Berenson Fine Art in Toronto, an internationally acclaimed gallery, represented her with a solo art exhibition in 2018 and will be doing another in 2019-2020 involving a new painting series inspired by dance, old fashioned romance and fairy tales.

Deanna has an exciting new creative project to create advertising and help promote G.A.B, “Gorgeous and Beautiful”, Deanna uses this as her own workout routine. The method was created by her friend Gabriela Carnovale. G.A.B. is a revolutionary exercise technique for both mind and body, which is a combination of art therapy, meditation, dance, yoga, pilates and stretching; it is already being used to help with physical and mental illnesses and to help with disabilities in various hospitals across Canada including CAMH.

Deanna Bailey is living her dreams and working in within the arts. She lives and loves all things fashion and dance. Working very happily within the art industry by day, in her free time, even more of the arts and also dancing. She loves clothing design, sewing and accessory design and fabrication. Contributing to her success, she hones her craft with complimentary skills of graphic and website design, photography, advertising and public relations (She has excellent bookkeeping skills as well, which is very helpful! She excels in visual fine art, and her passions for fashion and dance live through her artistic voice here as well, being integral to her subject-matter. She is well rounded, and capable of executing any project – and needless to say, Deanna is very organized as she aspires to live an “inspired” life.

Deanna very much values and enjoys taking care of her family, friends and her community. She loves being involved fundraisers, and is even writing a motivational book, evolving around on her long-time interest in nutritional sciences. She loves her church and participates in the choir there. Deanna has received inspiration from the love she has received from her family. Megha Sandhu is a versatile Canadian actress and model best known for winning Miss Teenage Canada 2012 and for her 3rd runner up placement at Miss Universe Canada 2018.   Megha grew up in Montreal, Quebec speaking both English and French. Growing up with a special needs brother she learnt early on to accept that everyone has a combination of both strengths and weaknesses and that compassion and patience go a long way in speaking across our differences. She graduated from Villa Maria High School in May 2011 and was named Top Athlete in her graduating year for her participation in soccer, basketball, flag football, track & field and cross country.

Sandhu is of Indian descent on both her mother and father’s side and is fluent in Hindi. She was instrumental in the creation of the Montreal based VIVO Fund, which organizes an annual charity fundraiser for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of the Jewish General Hospital to help fund and facilitate acute care and follow-up of premature newborns. Empowered as Miss Teenage Canada 2012, she spoke in front of 20,000 youth at We Day Vancouver. She then travelled to Kenya, Africa with Free the Children to help build a primary school for young girls. She realized then that pageants are a platform to not only achieve your own personal dreams but are a gateway to genuinely help and inspire others in need.

A graduate of Concordia University, she majored in Behavioural Neuroscience, to fully understand the intricacies of the human mind and behaviour with the need to better understand her younger sibling. Shortly after, she went on to compete at Miss Universe Canada 2018 and Miss Model of the World 2019 in China.

Megha was trained at Straeon Acting Studios where she was coached in acting for film/television, camera and scene studies. Her recent work includes; a stint at 24 Hour Plays where she co-wrote and conducted comedy skits for local audiences and featured in a commercial for VICHY Cosmetics and Apple.

In March 2019, it was announced that Sandhu was cast as the lead role of Kamali in the feature film Arranged Marriage which is set for release in Fall 2019.

Megha is also a well-being and fitness advocate and enjoys surfing, hiking and especially boxing for its confidence enhancing abilities.
