Placing I could understand based on the wokeness of this pageant...but top 5 or even win?

I did not see the prelims, so no idea who are the real contenders but I am wishing Jenelle all the best for tomorrow's final. Thailand  , Spain   and France  I love them all...Slovakia, Chile, Denmark, Germany...wow so many stunners this year. France to me is more beautiful and impressive than Philippines.  No idea who will win....but there is heavy politics that either a Latina or Phillipines could win.....honestly, I would love to see someone unexpected win like Thailand (who has grown on me) or Spain.

Regardless, I hope all the ladies had a great time in Mexico. 

@C&S please wake up and get some real advice and take some direction from Peter Elias. 

Jenelle may place, based on her confidence primarily. I think she won a lot of people over in the prelims. Having watched the prelims, I think our new MU would either be Spain or Dominican Republic.

I heard Dominican Rep. has a lot of attitude according to the latin pages. I don't think they like her. BTW is Spain trans?

A very deserving winner...it was unexpected that a latina did not win and they actually did not place Phillipines in the top 12...which to me I agree with...there were just better competitors this year....but the nonsense about crowning Phillipines MU Asia over Thailand who placed 4th in the final....the pandering to Phillipines because of the fan base and the extensive coverage is really ridiculous.

Two years in a row they crowned ladies from countries that never won before. 

I hope C&S got their wake up call....the delusion that our reps don't have to be in peak form needs to stop....I am realizing from their 3 MU reps....only TJ really put in the intense gym work that needed to be done...the other two just showed up looking regular like this is a Chaguanas borough pageant.

Honestly, TT could sit both MU and MW out for the next couple of years instead of wasting time and money on nonsense. Only MGITT showed us that they wanted to improve from last year and want to do well.

She already got the concillation prize for Miss Congeniality....no surpise becasue she has a lovely personality and no one saw her as competition. 

Did not see the prelims or the finals and I am not interested in seeing either because it was clear we were just there to make up numbers. I don't have the energy to invest in a competition when we sending the 100% clappers.

I honestly had no interest in this year's edition of MU, especially after I found out Janelle was our new Miss T&T. 




By all accounts, it seems she's a VERY GOOD speaker & seems VERY charismatic so MAYBE that (consolation prize) of Miss Congeniality was well deserved.  
 
BUT some ppl were really delusional to think she was going to do anything @ MU, EG my co-worker who knows nothing about pageantry & even worse from some who should know better LOL!!!  




She certainly drew attention, among locals who pay NO attention to pageants, after the controversy about 'negative comments' about her clothing & everything else. 
OH PLEASE!! She knew exactly what she was getting herself into. 




I'll watch the video of that 'Cooking Show' she was in with other contestants & the actual pageant when I'm in the mood. 

I'm sorry y'all, but it is painful and cringey hearing the new Miss Universe talk. Yikes. Happy for Denmark and their first win, but any other country would be held to a higher standard in the speaking / articulation department. That cheerleader type of speaking without actually saying much is disappointing. I think they just wanted a young starry-eyed-type girl who would be easy to manage over the next year. MW does a better job of picking blondes. And this is not me rooting for Nigeria, didn't find her crown-worthy either. A proper top-tier blonde was last year's Moriah Wilson from Australia.

We are totally on the same page ...except for the last line...don't waste your precious time watching that hot mess of a cooking show.

They need to find a real contender before year end and crown our next rep as soon as possible, then, train, train, train.

Fully agree. For the first time in a long while, I actually genuinely feel they got it totally wrong on finals night. Last time I felt like that was Olivia Culpo in 2012. I'd love to know just how bad Spain's interview had to be to justify leaving out of her finals, and why reps from the Dominican Republic are always being accused of being cocky.

Yep, I thought Oliva won because of her sash and the American judges. ....and yes, DR reps over the years have a reputation for having bad attitudes....back in 1997 who was it that kept stepping on Margot's EG train? I have forgotten, but your comment made me wonder if it was also a DR rep.  Lol!

On an aside, anyone noticed how MGI 2024's final production was way better than that of MU2024? MU is really spiralling downwards....and all the criticizm that MW was a 'cooking show' now MU also wants to follow MW's continental format...but with literally less sense....we all know Philippines will be the contentinal winner at least 50% of the time regardless of who they send because all the francishes pander to the Phillipines' fanbase.
