After a lot of harsh criticism from feminist organizations in France, the Miss France organization removed the age limit and now allows married women & mothers to apply!

The upper age limit is still not set and so far it is unknown if there will be any. If yes, it could potentially be the same age limit as Miss Universe - 28, but there is also a chance that there will be no upper limit at all. Up until now, the age limit was 24. Currently, the first contestant above the age of 24 is competing at a local pageant in the Nord-Pas-De-Calais region

It is IMPORTANT to note that Miss Universe rules still don’t allow the winner to be married/have kids and Miss Universe age limit is 18-28. THEREFORE, if a contestant who is married/a mother/above age of 28 ever wins Miss France, she will not be able to be sent to Miss Universe/World unless they change their rules as well. In that case, the highest placed contestant who fits the rule of MU/MW would be sent there. AND REMEMBER! Miss France was created 31 years before oldest international pageants Miss Universe & Miss World. It has existed without them and even though they acquired the license later, the primary purpose is to choose a woman to reign for the French. Even without these rules, the past winners always had a choice whether they even wanted to compete internationally, some did not compete anywhere by choice!
