Paradise Maintained!

The Miss World team led by Chairman and CEO Julia Morley and Reigning Miss World Krystyna Pyszkova has officially arrived in “Paradise!!”

Sabah is a Malaysian state occupying the northern part of the island of Borneo. It’s famed for its 4,095m-tall Mount Kinabalu, the country’s highest peak, suitably “Crowned” for a Miss World visit with its distinctive granite spires.
As a tourism destination Sabah is world renowned for its stunning beaches, breathtaking rainforest, unspoiled coral reefs and abundant wildlife, and much of this within perfectly preserved pristine parks and reserves! In short, Sabah is an ecological paradise on Earth!
And this is just how the local community are determined to keep it!

Led by Datuk Joniston Bangkuai, Assistant Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Environment in Sabah and Chairman of Sabah Tourism Board, Miss World CEO Julia Morley, Miss World Krystyna joined a host of volunteers to preserve this precious ecosystem.

The day began at sunrise with an early-morning beach clean-up at Pantai Dalit Beach, Tuaran, which is at the river’s mouth acting as a natural barrier that filters out rubbish as it washes in to Tuaran from the South China Sea.

Sailors from several countries who were on a stopover as part of a major International yachting event, joined with the team from Sail Malaysia to launch the day. This was followed by a larger clean-up session in the afternoon involving the Miss World Team as they supported the Sabah Government and local community in their clean-up operation resulting in a total collection of 495 kilograms of dangerous debris.

“We congratulate Datuk Joniston Bangkuai and the people of Sabah and hope their initiative will inspire similar proactive actions worldwide from other coastal communities to play their part in preserving our precious environment”, said Julia Morley.

Miss World 2024 Krystyna Pyszková @krystyna_pyszko marked her last day in Sabah by planting a tree at the Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) headquarters compound on Thursday, symbolising a seed of hope and commitment to the environment.

“This moment is a little bittersweet because this is our last day here,” said Pyszková, ending the Miss World Beauty With A Purpose Tour in Sabah, Malaysia .

“Our physical presence may not be here anymore, but it doesn’t matter because we left something else behind, and that’s the seed of home”, she completed.
