Gays are unnatural, according to Miss Botswana

Here's an article about the brand new Miss Botswana 2009. She was asked a question during the contest regarding same-sex marriage.

Miss Botswana: Gays are "Unnatural"

Following the drawn-out controversy with Miss California, DJ Fresh, a judge for the Miss Botswana pageant, asked contestant Sumaiyah Marope if she would support same-sex marriage in her country.

"It is unnatural act," she said, according to the Right Perspective, a website for a radio talk show of the same name. "God made us men and women...it is only proper for men to have relationships with women as God created us."

Not only did the crowd react positively to her words, but Marope went on to win the crown, unlike Miss California, Carrie Prejean. Marope was awarded an academic scholarship and a new Mercedes Benz. She will compete in the Miss World competition in South Africa this December.
