Well then, congrats to you for liking the winner.
Personally I don't get this winner at all. To me she is the worst
for me the worst is the Universe winner - your favourite (as I suppose).
No why would you think that?
Have I made it clear somehow that I really like Stefania?
Definetly the best is MU for me!!!!

Another girl who really caught my eye was Martinique with her crazy blonde braids! Very unconventional! Overall, the show was boring, but I did like it at the end where they pass the torch to Vietnam.

Re: Miss WORLD 2009: Live from JOBURG!-MISS GIBRALTAR!!!!!
Kaiane Aldorino, Miss Gibraltar, has been crowned Miss World 2009 in Johannesburg, South Africa. When she was told, the young woman exclaimed: “I have no words, I am really happy!”
The Miss Gibraltar website says this year was the first time an entrant from Gibraltar qualified in the first 20 places of the Miss World contest.
Miss Mexico, Perla Beltran Acosta, was runner-up and South Africa’s Tatum Keshwar was third of the seven finalists. The reigning Queen, Russia’s Ksenia Sukhanova, on taking the stage for the last time as Miss World, said of her time in the limelight:
Last year’s final was like yesterday. Tonight I hand over my crown, but it doesn’t matter, because once Miss World, always Miss World.
The pageant was broadcast live by the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) and began with traditional South African dances accompanied by drums. As the first group of girls was introduced, male dancers performed a miners’ gumboot dance, which became well known worldwide during the group Ladysmith Black Mambazo’s 1986 Graceland Tour with Paul Simon.
Following the introduction of the next group in alphabetical order, cast members of the world-renowned musical Umoja strutted their stuff. The organisers said this year's 112 entrants were a record for the Miss World Final.
A truly impressive “Dances of the World” followed, showing national costumes and traditional dances. Tahiti’s hula was particularly impressive, but Sierra Leone’s dance was not far behind.
Canada and Sierra Leone jointly won the talent contest, after which Miss Sierra Leone, Mariatu Kargbo, performed a traditional Chinese “Face Changing Dance” which apparently involved switching masks, but sung to an Afro-Caribbean rhythm.
Facebook Notes said the 22-year-old Miss Canada, Yangbing Ma, sang a beautiful soprano solo, wowing the crowd as her West African counterpart had done.
SABC also showed clips of earlier parts of the five-week-long competition, such as the swimsuit event, held on the country’s eastern Dolphin Coast, north of the port city of Durban. The bikinis designed for the event were made as a tribute to the host city’s Zulu name, Egoli, which means “City of Gold,” a reference to the gold mines.
The hosting of next year’s 60th Miss World Final was awarded to Vietnam.

Re: Miss WORLD 2009: Live from JOBURG!-MISS GIBRALTAR!!!!!
I don´t feel a need to change the program. i liked this years production-enjoyed the candidadates showcasing their talents between sections.
LOOOVED the world dance etc. The candidates wearing their evening-gowns at presentation. The gold-line during top 16...
The only thing is that semi-finals didn´t get enough attention..Wanted to see more of Brazil etc.
This was a splendid show!!

about a comment made before that MW is a European pageant,i kind of agree and disagree at the same time.As i see it: MW the latest years focuses in natural, classy, regal looks and attitude to promote their interests. Miss Universe on the other hand wants sexiness, poise, sassy attitude. We complain europeans do not play the game in MU like the latinas for example and we are right,we dont give them in many cases enough. but the same goes for mw.....if countries want better placing they must give whats needed, the game is different and MU rules do not apply. As Europeans havent adjusted yet to MU format, the same goes for the latinas in MW.ITS OBVIOUS THE MW HAS CHANGED AND THEY ARE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING NATURAL AND EARTHY.

ON THE SAME TIME.....LATIN COUNTRIES MAY NOT OFFER WHAT THE ORG WANTS , BUT LETS NOT FORGET ITS AN ORG.....PEOPLE PAY FOR RIGHTS,BROADCASTS ETC ETC ETC...SO THEY WILL LET THEM PLAY BUT NOT TILL THE END.MY PERSPECTIVE ALWAYS.
