It must have been horrible for Alexandria Mills to be ignored by other girls. I dont think it would be her fault...

I don´t think it´s only about Slovakia. Maybe Slovakia this year (she definitely deserved to be among the top, especially if 25 was called), but don´t forget on huge favourite Barbados in 2009 or Lithuania in 2007...

Yes, of course there have been other favorites missing the cut.... but my point and my personal opinion is that Slovakia has been sending fantastic women to all major pageants every year lately - and they never seem to make the cut!

Yes, of course there have been other favorites missing the cut.... but my point and my personal opinion is that Slovakia has been sending fantastic women to all major pageants every year lately - and they never seem to make the cut!

These are only speculations, but maybe they are great on photos, they are encouraged by their organizations to be "present" but then on stage they lose spark. We'll never know, but there must be a reason. I don't think they are excluded purposely from the beginning because they are from Slovakia...

I really enjoyed the interview on Fox LA. Nice that Miss Botswana seems to working for Miss World as she is Alexandria's roommate. Alexandria seems like a very sweet and humble girl! Way to go, Alexandria!

Miss World Homecoming Ceremony.

11th November 2010

Miss World honoured by Mayor

Having travelled from Sanya to Shanghai, from Los Angeles and then on to Miami, Miss World Alexandria Mills returned to Louisville, Kentucky for her homecoming, where she was honoured with a "Proclamation for Distinguished Citizen" award by the Mayor of Louisville.

With friends and family in attendance at the ceremony held in the Mayor's Gallery, Metro Hall, Alexandria spoke of how important it meant to her to be back home: "I am honored to be here, to be from such a wonderful place. Born and raised, I wouldn't trade it for the world and this will always be my home...Throughout this year, I want to make my country, my family and Greater Louisville proud."

Speaking of her time during the Miss World Final, she said: "While travelling in China it was wonderful to see the beautiful places and to meet the people who welcomed us with open arms. It was just great to take part in all that...I never thought in a million years i would be in China, walking on the Great Wall - I had done a report on the Great Wall in sixth grade and I had always told my family and friends it was a place I wanted to visit..."

Alexandria also reflected on her time as Miss World thus far: "To this day, I don't think it's quite set in yet; I put on the sash and crown and I'm still in awe and want to pinch myself and I think 'Oh my gosh, is this real?' but it's really amazing."

Chairman of the Miss World Organisation Julia Morley spoke about the charity work during the Miss World Final, and what was in store for Alexandria's year ahead. And Mayor Jerry Abramson commented on how appreciative he was of how she will represent Louisville all over the world.

Alexandria will now spend time in her hometown for Thanksgiving with her family before commencing the next part of her worldwide tour.

More pictures from Miss World's trip to Buffalo in support of Variety, The Children's Charity have arrived. The photos were taken from the trips made by Miss World Alexandria Mills and Miss World Africa Emma Wareus during their time there, including their radio interview, their tour of the Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo, meeting children at the Matt Urban Center, and the Variety charity gala dinner on their final evening. The events were organised in the run-up to the 49th Annual Variety Kids Telethon, which will be hosted by Variety of Buffalo and Western New York on 6th March 2011.
