Hana Svobodova (20) campaigns at the Miss Earth pageant her views against the testing of cosmetics on animals. She call out to people not to use such cosmetics and not allow abuse to innocent animals.

"It is a nightmare to find currently in cosmetics, which are tested on animals," said Hana. She pleads to all not to buy such cosmetics.

It is with great success she met at the prestigious international eco-friendly Miss Earth contest in the Philippines and her opinion was voiced out on the subject. Hana strongly opposed the testing of cosmetic products on animals.

Competing in Miss Earth is very demanding. Every day, we have to be awake at six early in the morning and go to bed at two in the night. Along with going to a lot of events, galas, visits to the sponsors of the competition, for example, or schools. "It is difficult, but also interesting," Hana said.

"I managed to get some fans and according to the organizers I am one of the favorites and likely to be among the top sixteen".

It is interesting to note that this year's pageant is the most strongest and competitive year in the history of the competition.

Finals will be held on 9th of November in Pampagna. The Miss Earth 2008 pageant finals night will decide between 85 young women from many countries around the world.

niki you know that i am a fan of our sister czech misses, but i must express my dissapointment with hana´s placement... sorry i think it wasnt deserved... just my opinion...please dont be agry...

This an other example why the slash factor works...¡¡¡¡ Maybe its beacuse Czech Republic is bst know as the land of Super Models just like Petra Nenkova, Karolina Kurkova & Tereza Maxova...ect..¡¡ that its the reazon why got spot every year..¡¡¡¡

On the other hand I think my Hana deserved the semifinal spot and I wish to see her higher. She had a very good presentation about non-testing of animals in cosmetics and looks very sweet and friendly. I am aslo sad about Martina´s nonplacement, but I don´t think Hana took her place Smile

BTW, I have the same problem with Edita, you know.... Wink

I don´t think the reason isn´t because of our supermodels. Czech Republic becomes one of the european´s powerhouses in beauty pageants (Grandslam rating: 12th spot overall, 3rd spot among Europe - 1st Spain, 2nd Russia), so I agree - a sash factor works. You have to know something about it, Sabi... lol!

i want to explain the same....do not want you to think that i am against the czech....but in my opinion hana didn´t deserve final 16, the same like in 2006 when czech delegate entered TOP 8...that was shock for me....she ´was not either favorite, nobody knew about her all the time during the miss earth contest, so what is this about then??
and next, jna dolezejova TOP20 at miss world 2004?? sorry, she is not miss type!!!! or barbie girl from MU 2007??
out of czechs i have to say, that FOR ME...and once again it is just my opinion was the best deleagte from czech republic alena seredova (3rd runner up world 1998)....this is the girls with a big sex-appeal....and then tatana kucharova, of course....
so i just wanna say, that czech republic may be in a good position at grandslam, but the fact that all uf urs girles were worth it, is something different...

I don´t agree with some of your comments about the Czech girls, but the truth is they are better prepared then yours and that is all about Very Happy

The Slovak national directors should do their job better IMO!

I think that Miss Czech Republic Earth should be in a better place in Miss Earth. I don't like the top 4, places 3 and 4. These ladies shouldn't have been there, I would replace them with Miss Czech and Spain.
