I really hope its not going to be in Miami or anywhere in the USA. I was very disappointed with the last 2 editions that were held in the USA, 2006 (LA) and 2010 (Las Vegas) respectively. I wish the MUO and NBC could lower the fees so the pageant could travel to different countries. Chicken wings competition, the lemonade stand and other cheap activities that were held in these 2 occasions were clearly not what you would expect from a pageant like MU.

It'll be even after the New Year the decision of the Miss Universe Organization headquarters on the choice of the 61th edition of the Miss Universe contest, whose sticking point now is the date of its completion. According to a letter from the director of the MUO President Paula Shugart national directors, the date is July. To try to please theaudience (and try to put it on par with the Miss USA 2012), NBC tries to re-propose the holding of the Miss Universe 2012 to Sunday, August 19, to avoid direct conflicts with other events already planned the station for summer-season games as the two pre-season NFL foreseen in the contract (one of them is the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game) and the coverage of the caucuses to choose or approve the candidates for the U.S. presidency, to be held between August 27 and September 3.
Guadalajara (Mexico), Sao Paulo (Brazil), Rustenburg (South Africa), Seoul (South Korea), Oranjestad (Aruba) and Cap Cana (Dominican Republic) are entitled to the cities competing to host the event.

Plan B

If none of the six candidate cities submit financial proposal before January 15, the output of the Miss Universe Organization will choose an American city to host Miss Universe 2012. As critic had already informed , Baltimore, New York, Miami, Los Angeles and Las Vegas has the choice to host the international dispute, but there are points against: Baltimore hosted the Miss USA twice (2005 and 2006) and its airport receives virtually only domestic flights, which would force the candidates from other countries to make connections and tortuous painful in Los Angeles, New York and Miami. As for the other four candidates received at least one edition of Miss Universe. Of these, Miami is the town that hosted the Miss Universe the most times (15, 1960 to 1971, 1984, 1985 and 1997), followed by Las Vegas (3, 1991, 1996 and 2010), Los Angeles (2, 1990 and 2006) and New York (1, 1981).

I wouldn't mind the Bahamas again. The only problem I have with it is the relatively small ballroom/auditorium to hold the final night of the pageant, but thats all. If the Bahamas really host MU in 2012, I really hope that we will be able to see the Bahamian culture throughout the telecast and not some american pop bullshit like that whore Heidi Montag. I was extremely disappointed to basically not see an ounce of Bahamian culture in 2009 during the final telecast. Where ever the pageant is held, I think the telecast should always showcase the beauty and culture of the country. I don't mind having an international super star singing at the event, but some crap like Heidi Montag was totally unacceptable and simply disrespectful.

Now it's official: in the hands of Donald Trump the cities that submitted bids have the right to host the 61st edition of the Miss Universe contest, whose date is already being worked out between August 26 (Sunday) or 10 September ( second Friday). Representatives of the applications of São Paulo, Rustenburg, Cap Cana, Seoul, Guadalajara and Oranjestad has handed over the application documents to the direction of Miss Universe Organization in New York, and must now decide who will receive the candidates.

In two weeks, on January 16, Trump and current Miss Universe, the Angolan Leila, shall announce the name of the chosen city after a long and tortuous process, which included three dropouts (Rio de Janeiro, Porto and Pristina ), two of them caused by the economic crisis that still reaches the European continent. For the application of the capital of Kosovo, for example, is estimated to have been spending $ 26 million, but the charge of the project found that the payback would be null and gave up the idea. In favor: Structure ready for the event;
Cons: unstable weather at the time of the contest and crime.

GUADALAJARA (Mexico)

In favor: Structure ready for the contest, mostly inherited from the last Pan American;
Cons: The high rates of crime, that would jeopardize the integrity of candidates. A risk that should rise if the application is not officially used to ensure the safety of competitors, families, artists and technicians.

SEOUL (South Korea)

Pros: Experience has already hosted a Summer Olympics (1988) and even Miss Universe (1980), structure ready to receive the candidates.

Oranjestad (Aruba)

Cons: insufficient infrastructure to accommodate candidates, technicians and artists for Miss Universe. Absence of a financial factor able to pay the costs of the application.

Rustenburg (South Africa)

In favor: Infrastructure ready for hosting the contest and thirst. Part of it was inherited from the last FIFA World Cup.

CAP CANA (Dominican Republic)

Cons: not enough structure to get candidates who would have to make connections, mostly.

Miss USA

While the novel of the host city of the Miss Universe walks into a setting, the thirst and the date of the Miss USA 2012 is already the subject almost ended on NBC, according to the Miami Herald , the MUO was already very advanced in negotiations with the City of Miami and local entrepreneurs to realize the American stage as Miss Universe 2012 on June 3, therefore, two weeks after the season finale of The Celebrity Apprentice.
Since 2008, the contest was being held in Las Vegas.

maybe MUO is in confusion Miss World is in August which makes it the first pageant of the year then we have Olympics which is scheduled between July and August Miss Universe is the first pageant of the year so they maybe in dizzy when to host the event many national pageants won't happen till july so it will be hard to ignore many countries request or they maybe in negotiations with many countries to just appoint their representative as we saw in Peru and Paraguay then they may host it in June
