Maria Blesilda "Bessie" Mueller Ocampo
Maria Candida Blesilda "Bessie" Mueler Ocampo was crowned Miss Philippines on December 19, 1953 at the Boys Town Auditorium. She found out that she's the official candidate of the Philippines to the Miss Universe contest while she was in London as one of the prizes of the local contest. She flew in to Los Angeles together with the delegates from Europe on July 11 after she confirmed the news. She ended up as one of the semi-finalists in the 1954 Miss Universe Beauty contest.
