Eurovision Song Contest 2013 - DENMARK WINS!!!

I am also INCREDIBLY disappointed and this his nothing to do with the city and the fact it has the highest crime rate in Sweden (that's a fact).

It's the fact that it's a small arena and I would have felt the same way if SVT would have chosen a small venue in Stockholm. There will be more interest of fans traveling to Sweden next year than this years event (for obvious reasons). And with less than 15000 tickets available (I would guess around 10.000) it's going to be very difficult to get tickets. I mean I am part of OGAE and they get a set amount of tickets as well but the demand will be so high, it's going to be almost impossible to get tickets. I mean this is sweden for crying out loud, look at how fast Germany sold their tickets.....

And even if I end up getting my ticket, I will spend 0 time in Sweden. My hotel room will be in Copenhagen, I will spent my nights in Copenhagen, I will eat in Copenhagen cause i just love that city. So Sweden made a poor decision from a touristic point of view though I'm not too worried about that.

So big thumbs down from me, now I have to talk to my travel buddy.

Probably because Malmö is already booked full, so it won't loose anything even if people will live in Reykjavik.

In any case, I'm SO BORED of this conversation now. There is SO MUCH MORE important things in this world than where the bloody heck will ESC 2013 be hosted. Enough is enough. If you wanna see this as the biggest tragedy that has ever hit Sweden and Stockholm then fine by me. Whine for the rest of your life.

Melodifestivalen is much more important to the swedes than international final

Stockholm has the Ice Hockey WC at the SAME TIME. A LOT of tourists coming all the way from USA and Canada too.
I think it was easier to SVT not to concentrate on two major events at the same time in the same city. Also there would have been accomodation problems since a lot of the hotels are allready booked for hockeytourists.

Furthermore, there has been talks about how difficult it will be to get tickets. That is ABSOLUTE BS. Nobody was complaining in 2000 when Globen did held the contest. The sama amount of tickets was being sold then than now to Malmö. Actually less, since back then they didn't have semifinals. And Globen is not TOO SMALL for any event, it's JUST OLD and Stockholm wanted to build a new arena, since Globen is so old and passed it's time.

And A THIRD THING, EBU has stated that they don't want Eurovision to be such high budget event anymore. They have stated that they will make it also less short as they don't want it to be two weeks long anymore So keeping all that in mind, people actually shouldn't be so shocked that it was given to Malmö now.

När Melodifestivalen 2012 avgjordes satt halva svenska folket bänkade framför tv-apparaterna. Publiktrycket för att få biljetter till Globen var stort.

När finalen av Melodifestivaken 2013 avgörs kan fler få uppleva den på plats. Nu är det klart att evenemanget blir ännu större och flyttar in i Friends Arena.

I still don't need it. I got my tickets already in my backpocket, so to speak.

We had a lot of americans and canadians here when we held hockey WC this year.

It's a FACT that the hockey WC in Stockholm there at same time WAS a concern!!!!
Stockholm would have gotten ESC without the hockey WC.

You know what, there really is NO POINT talking to you. You just whine whine whine and complain.
I've explained to you already how Eurovision fanclubs work. When ESC was held in Helsinki, swedish fanclub had tickets, norwegian fanclub had tickets. Did I then complain "oh, no eurovision fans from Sweden, Austria, Turkey ect are getting tickets when some finns all left without"?

NO, I DID NOT COMPLAIN. I welcomed them with open arms to our beautiful country!!

There are DIFFERENT sections in the audience that are especially for our fanclubs. That's how it works. That's how it has ALWAYS worked and that is how it will always work!!!!!!! It has nothing to do with swedes!

And as for Hockey WC....... I can't bother anymore. You are just being a pain in everybody's a** right now. There's no point explaining it again and again to a person who is unable to understand. You just wanna whine and complain. GO AHEAD!!!!

I never heard about this song festival before. It sounds interesting. It is televised?

Sure, it's televisied, but only on one polish channel First edition of this song festival was in 1961. In 70s it was called Intervision, cuz it was the Eastern Bloc equivalent to the ESC. This edition named Top of the top cuz only the stars in their own countries could be among the participants.
