Keriman Turkish Halis was a contestant who became Miss Turkey in 1932. Born in 1913 in Istanbul, is one of the 6 children of merchant Halis Tevfik Bey. His uncle was a famous opera composer Sabahattin Muhlis Ezgi and her aunt a renowned composer and musician Neveser Kökdeş. So when in 1934 it became compulsory for all Turkish citizens to get names, keriman Halis Ece took the name of queen. In 2007, turned 94 years old.
