It was mentioned during the preliminary competition it was a Top 10 including the winner of the people choice. So are we gonna expect favorites to be left out?

At both Miss Universe PR and Miss USA no one predicted the winner right... and I'm not surprised because BEAUTY was apparently not the reason why the won so it was hard to predict. Beauty pageants are really changing...

Very good article and I agree. Way too many videos and the way they announce the finalists is so boring. During the Trump era, the music used while announcing the top 15 and the way each girl was called was exciting ("only 2 more spots....and one goes to...GREECE!!!!!! And rounding out the top 15 is.....PUERTO RICO!!!!"). Often when I watched I would be on the edge of my seat to see if a state or country I liked placed. I don't like all the videos they show. I didn't like the camera work where the girls were only shown competing for 5 seconds. More air time was given to the hosts and the backstage commentator. The final look is now more geared toward showcasing a musical act rather than a final look at the girls.
They need to go back to a big opening number, 15 to 10 to 5 finalists, cut out all the musical/variety acts, stick to a 2 hour format, and focus on being a beauty pageant rather than a variety show with a pageant thrown in for the sake of it. Let Miss America be the cheesy show where the emphasis is on talent and intelligence. Those girls compete for scholarships. Miss USA/Universe was always the more glamorous title--where winners won furs, wardrobes, jewelry, etc.
IMG doesn't seem to get what Miss USA and Universe is about--the most glamorous and most beautiful.
