Her opponents claim that she doesn’t stand a chance in the Miss Universe 1954 pageant. She is sweet, a 5-foot-5 kindergarten teacher and she is undisturbed by the controversy.

The 5 foot, 8-inch blonde and 22 year-old said, “I didn’t think I’ll win it because I think the competition will be too hard.” Both Miss Argentina and Miss Chile Gloria Legisos, 21-year-old who arrived with her, said they’d rather win husbands than any beauty crown.

Miss Grecia Rika Dialina, 21, was prevented from entering the United States by immigration authorities because of the Mc Carran law. Her visa was denied because she had not met all the security requirements at the time of her departure for entry into the United States.

This was because she came to South Korea from North Korea in 1951 which was dominated by the Communists. Key Sun Huy (right) will take her place in the 1954 Miss Universe pageant.
