Abbie is 19-years-old and from Caldicot. We think she’s got one of the best jobs in the world….because she’s a dog groomer! Abbie loves her work as she’s passionate about dogs and loves to create grooms that make customers happy. Abbie has three A levels which she studied for during the pandemic which she believes has taught her how to more resilient and determined than ever before – both qualities that she says she has applied to her Miss Wales journey. She decided to take part in Miss Wales as an exploration in to empowerment and confidence building because she believes both girls and women should have the confidence to take on anything that they desire. In her spare time, Abbie likes going to the gym and keeping fit by playing netball with a local ladies team.

Abigail is a 22-year-old biology student in her final year at Swansea University who is passionate about conservation and has aspirations of a career in zookeeping. She also volunteers a at Woodfield Animal Sanctuary, where a range of animals are rescued and given amazing care after suffering neglect and severe hardships. After being diagnosed with Spina Bifida a few years ago, Abigail tries to stay active by walking her dog, jive dancing, and also by riding the sanctuary’s horses in preparation for their forever homes. She has also donated her hair three times to the Little Princess Trust who make wigs for children with cancer, raised money for Cancer Research UK and organised fundraisers for Ronald McDonald House Charity.

Alys 18-year-old performing arts student from Caerleon, @alysbronwenxx , who has been lucky enough to perform on stage alongside icons like Alfie Bow and John Owen Jones. Growing up, Alys spent a lot of time in hospital due to a brain tumour but received incredible care and was able create some really special memories from what could have easily been a very negative time. At the age of six, she became an ambassador for Cancer Research’s ‘Shine’ project and since then has been fundraising for different cancer charities such as LATCH and Cancer Research. Alys has always been really into fashion and classes herself as a girly girl who loves to use clothes as a way of expressing herself. Her reason for taking part in Miss Wales is to inspire children and young people battling illness to know that they can still pursue their dreams.

Carys @carys_havard , an 18-year-old medical student from Crickhowell. She is in her first year at university working towards her childhood dream of becoming a doctor. Being a woman in STEM, Carys hosts workshops for students with the ambition to persue higher education, specifically medicine. As a member of We Are Donors charity, she is also doing training to be able to talk to children about blood and organ donation. Carys has also always had a passion for swimming and has competed at Welsh national level. Carys believes that being a Miss Wales finalist has helped hugely with her confidence and given her the opportunity to work closer with her community.

Catrin, who is 19 and from Bridgend. Catrin is studying for A Levels and has received offers to start as a student mental health nurse later in the year. Having danced and performed since the age of three, Catrin has appeared in West End charity shows, performed for Cancer Research fundraising events and won first place in many dance competitions. She was also invited to be a Welsh X Factor inalist and came second in a public speaking competition. Catrin also loves power-lifting and at the age of 14 obtained British and World records in the sport which she believes has been great for both her physical and mental health.

Darcey @darceycorria is championing her mixed race at Miss Wales 2022 and is flying the flag for the fabulous diversity that Wales has to offer. Darcey has a Welsh mum and her dad is from the Caribbean. She is extremely passionate about equality for people of all ethnicities in Wales, and having been a victim of racism herself, was delighted to be asked to contribute to the Criminal Justice in Wales Anti-Racism Delivery Plan called Together Stronger. This set off Darcey’s hunger for change and now she volunteers for Race Equality First. As well as being an advocate for diversity, Darcey has A Levels in sociology, geography and history. In her spare time, she loves going for walks where she lives in the beautiful Vale of Glamorgan.

Ellie is 21 and from Cardiff. She is a nursing assistant on the chemotherapy units at Velindre Hospital – and lives for her job! Ellie’s passion in life has always been to help people and care for them in a way that will make a difference to their lives. Through her Miss Wales experience, she hopes to encourage young girls and women to pursue a career in healthcare having decided healthcare was for her after volunteering at City Hospice. Now Ellie hopes to study for a degree in nursing.

Ellie-may, is 22-years-old and from Cwmbran. She’s just beginning her dream job as a dental nurse which is the career she has been dreaming of for a long time because it inspires her to help and support people every day. Ellie-may leads an active and healthy lifestyle and particularly loves going on long walks and taking photographs of the views. She loves to travel and embrace different cultures and is also passionate about supporting charities and donates regularly to her local food bank. Ellie-may is finding the Miss Wales experience empowering as it is pushing her outside her boundaries and she’s growing in confidence as a result.

Emma Kaler has a mixed Indian Welsh heritage. She was born in Cardiff and embraces her culture as a unique identity and a gift that she can celebrate as part of her Miss Wales journey. Emma is a trained performer who also enjoys reading, long walks, travelling and learning about different cultures and researching the many charities that strive to support women around the globe. She is particularly passionate about women, animal rights and the safety of adopted children and sees Miss Wales as an opportunity which will give her the chance to be the best version of myself while working towards charitable goals. Emma is sponsored by Juboraj Rhiwbina and Kats Claws Nail Innovation.

@gabrielledunn_model_profile who is 25 and from Caerphilly. Gabrielle studied theatre and drama for three years at the University of South Wales and came away with a 2.1 bachelors degree before going on to study at the Nation Youth Film Academy in London where she won an outstanding contribution award. Gabrielle currently has two jobs - one as a trainee in Lloyds Bank and the other a travel advisor at TUI Holidays. She also runs her own jump fitness classes three times a week, supporting women to feel good and lose weight and also make friends. Gabrielle says applying for Miss Wales was totally out of her comfort zone but decided to push through her own barriers and confront her fears while helping others do the same.

Jasleen - a 24-year-old trainee chartered accountant and pole-vaulter with a full Indian-Punjabi Sikh heritage. She loves the outdoors and has been lucky enough to do her bronze, silver and gold Duke of Edinburgh Award in Wales. She attended Swansea University and studied accounting and finance – walking away with a first! She has a strong sporting background and has represented Cardiff, Newport and Swansea in a plethora of sporting disciplines including rowing and athletics. As well as her love for nature, sports and the outdoors, she’s also an avid charity enthusiast and has helped a variety of charities including the Prostate Cancer-Walk for life fundraiser, Cancer Research, Hope Rescue and Honeypot which helps young caregivers. Her reason for entering Miss Wales is to show younger women a more diverse role model in Wales who has dealt with the same difficulties they may have had through coming from a diverse background.

Jaz! She’s a Miss Wales finalist and a 20-year-old law student and bridal makeup artist living in Monmouthshire. Having grown up with horses she has always ridden and competed competitively from a very young age – even getting as far as representing Wales. Jaz loves nothing more than spending her free time galloping up and down the pitch playing polo at Beaufort. She’s also a huge fan of pageants because of the confidence it gives young women. Jaz is a big supporter of charity too having held two fashion shows in aid of SNAP Cymru and in her role as a volunteer for St David’s Hospice. She has created a Christmas selection box appeal for them as part of their unicorn service which supports children whose parent or guardian is a patient of St David’s.
