This photo was published on 15th July, four days before the final night. Miss Italy, Valeria Fabrizzi, was the centre of attention among the 77 Miss Universe 1957 contestants at Long Beach, California, when she appeared before photographers in her own swimsuit. Not many pictures were taken before her chaperone rushed her back to her hotel room for a change into a more “conventional” swimsuit.
