This photo was published on 15^th October 1957, one day after the final night. Miss Finland, Marita Lindahl is the new Miss World. She is a statuesque blond who makes her living by taking care of people’s feet, gave some special attention to her own today. The 18-year-old, a pedicurist by profession, was the tallest and heaviest of the 23 girls in the competition. She stands 5 feet 7 ¾ inches, weighs 136 ¼ pounds and is contoured 37-22¾-37. She was rewarded with a sports car and 500 pounds ($1,400).
The rest of the finalists are Miss Denmark, Lillian Madsen (2^nd); Miss South Africa, Adele Kruger (3^rd); Miss Tunisia, Jacqueline Tapia (4^th); Miss Japan, Muneko Yorifuji (5^th); Miss France, Claude Inès Navarro (6^th) and Miss Israel, Sara Elimor (7^th).
