Every time I talk to my family about pageants, especially my mother, they all make faces at me. My aunt rolls her eyes. My grandfather used to go "Blah!" My grandmother used to say they're fixed. My mother says "Leave me alone with that nonsense!" They also try to change the subject right away. What do you think? Are pageants nonsense? Or do they have some meaning?

As Lara Dutta said, pageants create platform for women and it paves the way to whichever career they foray into. As for myself, I have always loved the Miss Universe pageant for its grandeur and entertainment value. I love you

My grandparents love beauty pageants. Very Happy

My question is this.....is it possible it has to do with sexual orientation? cause pageants are connected with gay men,and maybe this causes a feeling of akwardness to them....their son, nephew etc....being involved with "gay"..."girly" stuff"......

Just an idea...what do you think?????
