One of the best known and most desirable is TEREZA MAXOVÁ.

The Foundation of Tereza Maxová is one of the most important institutions taking care of abandoned children in the Czech Republic. Established in 1997, the Foundation today cares for 4.000 children from 200 infant homes, children´s homes and children´s centres with the objective to give psychological, practical and financial support to its “protégés”. Moreover, the Foundation acts as an interest-broker for children without families and for the infant and children´s homes in the legislative, social and cultural context in the Czech Republic.

PETRA NÌMCOVÁ was born in June 24, 1979 in Karviná, she is a fashion model and founder and president of Happy Hearts Fund. In December 2004, she was injured in Thailand by a tsunami resulting from the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake. Her then-fiancé, Simon Atlee, was killed in the tsunami.



Her father was a mason and her mother, a teacher. She became a model after being spotted at the age of 16 during a national talent search.
She was featured on the cover of the 2003 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, and has also modeled for Victoria's Secret, and for many other companies in the women's clothing market. In addition to working with world class photographers on her Sports Illustrated shoots, she was the object/subject of Joanne Gair's body painting work.
On June 3, 2004, she was one of the telecast judges during the 53rd annual Miss Universe competition in Quito, Ecuador.

KAROLÍNA KURKOVÁ (born February 28, 1984) is a Czech model, best known as one of the Victoria's Secret Angels.



She was born in Dìèín, Czechoslovakia, to Josef Kurka, a Czech basketball player, and a Slovak mother.

After a friend sent photos of Kurková to an agency in Prague, she immediately landed a runway appearance, as well as a commercial and print ad. She was 15 at the time. She later traveled to Milan to gain more experience. There, Miuccia Prada, the designer behind the brand Prada, signed her to a modeling contract. Daughter of a Czech basketball star, Karolina Kurkova inherited her father’s figure and height. After a best friend encouraged her to send her pictures to an agency in Prague, Karolina found herself walking on catwalks as well as appearing in commercials and print ads.

Kurkova subsequently flew to Milan, where she was signed by well-known Italian fashion designer Miuccia Prada. In September 1999, the hard-working 15-year-old model landed a modeling job with fashion and lifestyle magazine Vogue, in New York.

Moving to the Big Apple, Kurkova, at the tender age of 17, received America’s recognition when she graced the cover of the February 2001 edition of Vogue, becoming one of the youngest models ever to appear on the magazine’s cover. This led to deals with the famed lingerie retail marketer Victoria's Secret, where she was selected as one of their “Angels” and has appeared in a string of the company’s popular TV specials. Additionally, Kurkova also signed a deal with French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent and world-famous designer Tommy.

In 2002, Kurkova, who was called the "next supermodel" by Vogue editor Anna Wintour, was honored with the "Model of the Year" title at that year’s VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards. This brought her more modeling jobs with such designers as Ralph Lauren, Oscar de la Renta and Balenciaga.

Meanwhile, Kurkova has also appeared on NBC’s talk show "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and in the fashion documentary Seamless, in 2005. She also has tried her hand in acting and just completed her first film, My Sexiest Year, a romantic coming-of-age drama/comedy written and directed by Howard Himelstein. The movie stars Frankie Muniz, Harvey Keitel and Amber Valletta.

Besides modeling, Kurkova is active in humanitarian work, promoting the welfare of children through such organizations as "The Beautiful Life Fund," "Free Arts" and "Global Youth Action Network." She received an award from a non-profit organization called Women Together, in March 2006.

ALENA ŠEREDOVÁ is a Czech top model currently living in Italy. She was born in 1978 at Prague.



Šeredová was Vice Miss Czech Republic in 1998 and her country's representative at Miss World 1998 (finished as a 3rd RU) and started her international career as model in 2002, being chosen by the Italian comedian Giorgio Panariello for his own prime-time TV show. Alena was featured on the covers of several magazines including Penthouse Europe, Playboy Europe, Spy, Extreme and Quo. In 2005, Alena was chosen to pose in Max Calendar. Her boyfriend is the Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, who plays for Juventus football club.

Seredova has a son with Gianluigi Buffon - Louis Thomas Buffon, who was born on December 28th, 2007. She has a sister named Eliška, also a model. Her mother's name is Jitka Šeredová.



Serdova co-owns Italian clothing-line Baci e Abbracci with soccer-player, Bobo Vieri.

HELENA HOUDOVÁ was born in Pilsen, 27th of December 1979. She gave born to her son a few months ago in Thomayer´s Hospital in Prague. She lives mainly in New York.



Helena won the Miss Czech Republic competition in 1999.

She is a founder of The Sunflower Children Foundation.

My name is Helena, founder and president of the Sunflower Children’s Foundation. Since 1997 I have been working with orphans and deaf children in my home of the Czech Republic. As a fashion model, I've had the opportunity to meet a lot of interesting and caring people. While on my travels many people were very interested in helping or doing something for children, but were unsure of how to get involved. I realized that I had a great opportunity to connect these two worlds in which I live and work. People with the means to help disadvantaged children around the world who desperately need our support. And that is how the Sunflower Children came to be. According to the National Institute For Literacy, 113 million children around the world have no access to primary education. VERONIKA VAØEKOVÁ (born June 19, 1977) is a Czech supermodel. Her name in the English-language press is often given as Veronica Varekova.



Originally from Olomouc, at age 19 she moved to New York City, United States. Initially, she wanted to attend the Parsons School of Design, though she chose modeling instead and was signed by Next Model Management. She moved to Europe after it became clear that she would be more successful there. She is fluent in three languages and has degrees in Psychology and Education. She married hockey star, Petr Nedved, in July 2004, but they separated in the summer of 2006.

Vaøeková has appeared in the swimsuit edition of Sports Illustrated a total of eight times: 1999-2002 and 2004-2007. She appeared on the cover in 2004. In addition to SI, Veronika was regularly featured in Victoria's Secret but decided not to renew her contract in 2004. She became the face of NIVEA at that time. TAÁNA KUCHAØOVÁ (born in 1987 in Trnava, Czechoslovakia, recent Slovakia) won the title of Miss World 2006. In doing so, she became the first woman from the Czech Republic to win the title at the final event of the Miss World competition, held on September 30, 2006, in Warsaw, Poland. The title isn’t only a symbol of beauty, but also of professionalism and the discipline it takes, as she says, to follow a different path. She sees charity as a mission that she will continue to focus on. She is also a student at the University of Public Administration and International Relations.




Tatana is a model, among other things as a face of Klenoty Aurum.








She lives with Milan Richter, a Prague´s councillor.




A few days ago Tatana becomes a president of Miss Czech Republic.
