It would be an amazing choice but if MUO asks for a crazy hosting fee, I doubt its going to be held anywhere outside of the USA

I’m sure this piece of news will get Miss Universe enthusiasts excited and keep their collective fingers crossed that, the gods of beauty permitting, it will come true: there’s a possibility that this year’s Miss Universe pageant will be held in Manila.
“It might be,” Madame Stella Marquez-Araneta told Funfare in an exclusive interview yesterday at the Novotel Hotel where 2015 Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach will be billeted during her six-day homecoming (Jan. 23 to 29, see story on Page 1). “I was in Las Vegas during the Miss Universe pageant last December but honestly, I didn’t feel anything like that. What I know is that for the past two or three years there has been ‘conversations’ to that effect…you know, that the Philippines would be a nice place to hold the pageant in.”
The first time the Miss U pageant was held here was in 1974 won by Spain’s Amparo Muñoz (she died a few years ago) who came back to do a movie titled Hayop sa Ganda with former Miss Universe (1969) Gloria Diaz. It was reigning Miss Universe (1973) Margie Moran who crowned Muñoz.The country’s bet in that pageant was Guada Sanchez who finished among the Top 12.

The second time the pageant was held here was in 1994, at the PICC, won by India’s Sushmita Sen. The country’s representative, Charlene Gonzalez, placed among the Top 6. Sen was crowned by reigning (1993) title-holder Dayanara Torres (of Puerto Rico) who also came back to start her showbiz career. Torres was romantically linked to Aga Muhlach, now the husband of Charlene; she married singer Marc Anthony and then separated from him (they were divorced).
“Now that the new Miss Universe is from the Philippines,” added Madame Araneta, “it might be easier to connect the Miss Universe Organization with the Philippine government.”

Ok, I am not inclined to put 1 and 1 just like that. But just for the purpose of inciting a discussion among you, dear readers, how do you feel about the Philippines sending a tall and dusky representative? Top of my head would be Sheena Dalo of Ilocos Norte and Apriel Smith of Cebu. One is 5’11”, the other 5’10”, respectively. And both are very charming individuals in person. They have the qualities that – if molded the right way – could definitely give us a potentially strong pool of choices for the top crown. And wait, let me add Jennyline Carla Malpaya as a 3rd option. This sweet charmer also fits the bill very well. She may not be as tall as the other two, but she has the right physical ingredients and personal qualities to also put up a gritty fight to the finish.

This is the second time that Belize was mentioned and i don't think it will be held here in the Philippines as it's election this year...

Norman said if ever the pageant will be held in Belize ,sending exotic Filipina is a good idea, agree?

How bout Tennessee Scotty?? not a good option? For sure soon it will be held here in the Philippines. In Europe I want Greece so the ladies will feel like they are a goddess like our very own Maggie Moran in 1973

The Miss Universe Organization and Pia Wurtzbach will have a major announcement during the Bb. Pilipinas 2016 finale scheduled to be held at the Araneta Coliseum on Sunday.
According to the rumors, Wurtzbach and Miss Universe will reveal the host country for the next edition of the international pageant.
In an exclusive interview last January with ABS-CBN News, Miss Universe president Paula Shugart said that she believes this is the right time to hold the pageant in the Philippines.
“For years, I’ve talked about someday having the pageant here. I do know with Pia (Wurtzbach) right now, the entire worldwide focus is on the Philippines. I think it’s a great opportunity. I would love to be able to make it work. We’ll see,” she said.
“We have new owners that came in in October. All we did is we focused on let’s get the show on and we’ll talk and now they are seeing things. When I go back, we’ll figure all that out. The rumor since yesterday , even during the Mister Philippines interview segment last night, the host Boy Abunda who just had an interview with Pia for his show on tv that there is a chance that Philippines will host this year.

In the first place, why they will announce it during Bb Pilipinas instead of Miss USA. And I heard it might be Ecuador too. Lots of hearsays. I will wait the announcement on Sunday and will update u guys imediately

Sorry for the late reply, Bonner! I must have missed this.
Tennessee would be good if the pageant was held in Nashville. We have the Bridgestone Arena there and many big concerts are held there in addition to the arena being the home of the Nashville Predators hockey team. The Grand Ole Opry is here, the Parthenon in Centennial Park....not the glamour of some locales, but fun, friendly people and a naturally beautiful landscape!

I hope they announce the pageant will be in the Philippines just for you Bonner!
