Miss Universe 2015, the 64th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 20 December 2015 at the AXIS Theater, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Paulina Vega of Colombia crowned her successor Pia Wurtzbach of the Philippines. 80 contestants competed in this year.


This was the first edition of the Miss Universe pageant under the new owners, WME/IMG and is the first aired by Fox and Azteca. The show was marred when host Steve Harvey mistakenly announced Ariadna Gutiérrez from Colombia as Miss Universe 2015, even though it had been decided by the judges that Pia Wurtzbach from the Philippines had won. Gutiérrez was initially crowned and about three minutes passed before the crown was removed and given to Wurtzbach. The show was abruptly ended without Wurtzbach performing the traditional walk with the crown.

I'm happy for Bonner and that I finally predicted Miss Universe winner right on this forum.
Not the biggest fan of Pia but she's the best girl from Philippines at MU since I remember.

Not my favourite....2015 is not a good pageant-year in my history....

Pageantry is loosing it´s footage in Europe....

The Philippines  winning two big pageants, could it be because their audience is taking it seriously, while in Europe the media isn´t enough serious...therefore the audience isn´t as loyal as in Asia, latinamerca etc?

It could also be because one of the big pageants is owned by Filipinos and there is always being a bias towards the filipino contestant (Miss Earth). As for MU, they have a large obsessed and passionate fan base and there has been obvious favoritism from MUO towards the filipino contestant (especially with Ariella and Mary Jean in my opinion) but the filipino rep is always well prepared and no one can deny Pia's beauty and performance. She did very well

Miss Germany was asked to explain why they rushed to Miss Colombia instead of congratulating Miss Philippines and she responded, "Because none of us vote for Miss Philippines, I am so sorry to say that."

"I really couldn't believe it, I was so upset. For me (she was robbed) as the real winner. I was very happy for Miss Colombia because she really deserved it. I'm really not happy with the result and so are the other girls, I'm sorry to say it," she told Cruz.

I heard it on TV, too and they showed a TV show where she admited it in a very sweet way, with out saying much! The journalist that interviewed her was the Presintent's sister and asked "Are you dating my brother?" , Pia blushed and the sister seemed to approve!
So perhaps after MU she may become a first lady!

I wonder what the story behind this is. Sour grapes? Some backstage scandal?

One of the reason why Philippines is doing great this past few years its because our girls is being trained under 2 big camps (Aces & Queens/Kagandahang Flores) 6 months prior to their National Pageant. That's why they are already pageant ready. And some girls even under training for years before competing in National Pageant. Other countries , I guess they only train their girls after she won the National Pageant. 


We trained our girls not only how to walk to pose on camera , and to answer the Q&A and interview but also having the right manner etc in every activities onstage or backstage. Even in a small thing like how to eat properly .


When Pia was announced as 1st runner up , Im already happy and contented as runner up is not a bad thing at all. 


Our crowning moment was taken away from us. You know the feeling and excitement when your country was called Miss Universe. We missed it! 


Ps: There is a rumor that Miss Universe 2016 will be held here in the Philippines (I hope!)

Actually I used Pageant Mania everytime I attend Pageants activities as media! Only i dont have good camera. And I have also work while attending pageants here!
