The 18-year-old sales advisor from Aylestone Leicester will represent Leicestershire in the Miss England 2016 grand final held in Southport from July 19 to 21 and the 26-year-old property developer will go forward to the 2017 Mr England finals held every two years.

Maria Gardner crowned Miss Birmingham 2016

Maria Gardner was crowned Miss Birmingham 2016 during the final, held on March 23th, 2016 at the Macdonald Burlington Hotel, beating off 39 other contestants. This contest is one of the biggest Miss England heats in the country with over 850 applications.

The 22-year-old model is not a stranger on the catwalks, having travelled the world for her modelling expeditions.

Lucinda Thayers is Miss Cheltenham 2016

Lucinda Thayers was crowned Miss Cheltenham 2016, during a glittering ceremony held in the Princess Hall at Cheltenham Ladies’ College on March 27th, 2016. The 18 year-old beauty queen successfully fought off competition from 11 other finalists but felt that it was her “genuine personality” that pipped her ahead of the other girls. She will now represent her state in the upcoming Miss England pageant.

Thayers is from Cheltenham and works for Tayabali Tomlin, said she “couldn’t believe it” when she was announced as the winner. That whatever I said this evening I genuinely meant and I think this made me come across as honest,” she said.

Lucinda has high goals for her year as Miss Cheltenham with supporting the Hollie Gazard Trust and their work in preventing cases of domestic abuse was her priority.

According the Gloucestershire Echo, she said: “I am passionate about educating both young girls and boys about domestic abuse, and how young people should behave towards one another especially when they are in a relationship. I also want to work hard at educating young people where they can go when if they think they are victims of domestic abuse and where they can go for help.

“My Handbags for Hollie initiative where I sell unwanted handbags on eBay has already raised over £100 for the Hollie Gazard Trust and this is just one part of my charity work that I want to continue with.

“My second main priority will be working with the Cheltenham festivals. We have so much to be proud of here in Cheltenham and the festivals are a key part of the town. I want as many people as possible to know about them and to come to them.

“It is now the end of a massive day, a huge day for all us who have taken part and I am just grateful for everyone’s support and generosity. The help I have had from family and friends has been tremendous.”

Khady Gueye crowned Miss Gloucester 2016

Khady Gueye was crowned Miss Gloucester 2016 during the final, held on April 1st, 2016 at Gloucester Rugby’s Kingsholm Stadium. She will represent Gloucester at Miss England 2016, later in July. She beat seven over contestants on the night to earn the coveted sash as well as winning the Miss Social Media title for her prowess on Facebook.

The 20-year-old sales manager from Blakeney impressed judges with her dress sense, independent personality and effort in the various rounds.
Accordint to Gloucester Citizen, Khady, who works at Liquid in Gloucester, said : “I am so overwhelmed, I didn’t expect this at all.
“When I first entered I didn’t expect to win.

“When I met all these girls in the sports round I thought they were the best group of girls I have been around.
“We have got on so well. It sounds like a cliché but they are like a Gloucester family.
“I am so excited to get to the events. I can’t wait to see what this year brings and what I can get up to in the community.”

Emily Sanders wins Miss Bristol title

Emily Sanders was crowned Miss Bristol 2016 during the final, held at the Mercure Hotel in the city on April 3rd, 2016 and wins a place in the Miss England pageant.

Emily Sanders, 23, had previously won the Miss Somerset contest last summer and said she was relaxed about this one. She currently teaches in Exeter at St Peter’s school, and attended King Alfred’s in Highbridge where her favourite history teacher was Martin Ellis.

In September Emily returns to college in Oxford to study for a masters degree in education.
