Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach visits Toronto, Canada

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach and Paola Nunez Valdez Miss Universe Canada 2015 stopped by to speak to and meet with some of the Miss Universe Canada 2016 delegates during their rehearsals in Toronto this afternoon. Pia gave a very inspirational speech to all the delegates from the GTA, Central and Western Ontario regions, as the delegates begin their journey to try to become Miss Universe Canada 2016.

Pia is in Canada to support the Sick Kids Foundation and will join Paola Nunez and former Prime Minister John Turner to deliver a message of Diversity in Canada & Anti-Bullying (Pia will give a few notes on her anti bullying advocacy).

Most of the finalists have been revealed and you can see them on the following link http://missuniversecanada.ca/2016-national-finalists/
The lineup will probably change a bit until the pageant starts and we will also soon find out the finalists from Western Ontario that will join the national finalists group. Once again, its very diverse group that represents the mosaic of cultures that is Canada and once again, I believe it is a weak batch with a few contenders only.

My absolute favorite is the gorgeous Siera Bearchell who was first runner up in 2013 and who went on to finish first runner up at the Miss Supranational 2015 pageant held in Poland.

I think we definitely have a clear winner with Siera but Im not sure if the organization will crown her. She is by far the best candidate but sadly she is not from GTA area which is always favored by the organization and Im sure the organization has some favorites, like Kesiah Papasin who was first runner up in 2014 and Canada's rep at Miss International 2014.

The Miss Universe Canada 2016 Western Ontario Preliminary Top 5 in alphabetical order Cailey Theos, Felicity Slikboer, Jelena Komlenac, Shanacee Shreve and Zoe Bennett. These 5 delegates will be moving on to compete at the National Finals in Toronto.

Miss Universe Canada 2016 will be held at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts, Bluma Appel Theatre in Toronto. You can see the National Finalist from all across Canada on stage during the Preliminary Competition on Thursday June 9th and the Final Competition on Saturday June 11th.
