True, but at least the Japanese had the decency to wait 50 years before crowning their own girl and since 1972, Japan has made the top 3 only two times (in 2002 as second runner up and in 2012 as the winner). In comparison, Miss Earth waited 7 years before crowning Miss Philippines in 2008 and did it 3 more times in 17 years of existence of the pageant. Also, Miss Philippines has made the top 3 8 times since the pageant started in 2001, 5 times being very questionable ( 2006, 2008, 2011, 2012 and 2017).

As for Ikumi, I think Kaiane Aldorino and Jessica Trisko as pretty close to her leverl facially, but I doubt Karen Ibasco has any competition in this area.

No way, don't put Kaiane in that rang. Kaiane is not wow, but she is rather ordinary girl, nothing spetial about her, but she is not ugly as Ikumi or Karen. Even Jessica could be consider as a cute girl.
Ikumi and Karen, are outside of every competition ... so far.
