MISS UNIVERSE ICELAND 2020

Presenting Miss 101 Reykjavík, Disa Dungal. Dísa graduated with a Masters Degree in Sports and Health Science at the age of 24 after fast tracking through college in only 2 years. She is currently working in the fitness industry, running her own business as a professional health and fitness expert, yoga teacher and fitness brand model. She loves all kinds of sports but her favorite things to do are traveling the world, drinking tea and spending time with her grandmother. Disa has represented Iceland abroad successfully and looks forward to participating in the 2020 edition of Miss Universe Iceland.

Presenting Miss Black Sand Beach, Berglind Yr Heiðdísardottir.
This 18 year old has lived most of her life in Iceland but also lived in Denmark as a young girl. She enjoys drawing and painting, which she frequently spends her free time doing. Miss Universe Iceland 2020 is her first competition on a national level and is looking forward this exciting journey as well as meeting all the other contestants. As her advocacy, she would like to use her voice to help stop global warming and to save our planet Earth.

Presenting Miss Breidholt, Kamilla Kristrúnardottir Hancock. She is 20 years old and was born in Reykjavík. When she was 6 years old she moved to America and Japan and returned to Iceland in 2015. Kamilla loves all forms of art from dancing to painting and her dream is to become a Film Director/Producer and create movies that help people understand each others uniqueness. As someone who grew up different, individuality is very important to her because she believes our differences is what makes us beautiful. She was also an exchange student in South Korea and as a well traveled person, she believes all people deserve to live safely without harm or the burden of being sent back to a dangerous place.

Presenting Miss Crystal Beach, Melkorka Sól Sigurjonsdottir. Melkorka is 20 years old and lives in Hafnarfjörður. Her areas of interest and study are fashion and makeup. She also enjoys exercising and feels it incredibly fun going to the gym, taking part in fitness boxing or ballet, living a healthy lifestyle has always been important of her life. Other favorite pastimes include cooking and exploring new food dishes and recipes, traveling extensively and spending time with her family and friends.

Presenting Miss Egilsstadir, Heiðrún Anna Eyjólfsdóttir.
Heiðrún currently lives on a farm on the outskirts of Egilsstaðir in Eastern Iceland. She is 19 years old and is a student at Menntaskólinn á Egilsstöðum, and works at a local bakery. Her hobbies include traveling, playing soccer and taking care of her farm animals. Her dream is to get a job as a guide and obtain a degree in Travel Studies and one day open her own travel guide company and travel the world.

Presenting Miss Gardabaer, Halla Karen Johnsdóttir. This 20 year old was born and raised in Ólafsfjörður in the North of Iceland, moving to Gardabaer when she was 16 years old to begin her studies in Economics at The Commercial College of Iceland, where she graduated from in 2019. Halla Karen is the oldest of six siblings and in her spare time she loves to travel, go swimming, eat healthy and exercise. She currently works at a major Icelandic telecommunications company where she is in daily communication with the customer. Three words to describe her are kind, caring and ambitious.

Presenting Miss Geysir, Jenny Sulollari.
Jenny is 26 years old, bilingual and has a passion for selfcare. Her hobbies include traveling and exploring the beauty of new cultures, hiking ,spending time in Icelandic nature and painting.
She believes that a positive body image is important and necessary as well as your personal mental health. Jenny wants to encourage young girls to accept themselves as they are. These topics are very close to her heart because she has had to overcome the effects of being bullied as a child and therefore believes strongly in accepting yourself fully and loving every part.
She considers herself to be a very positive and outgoing person, compassionate, honest and kind.

Presenting Miss Glacier Lagoon, Guðrún Inga Helgadottir. Guðrún Inga is a 22-year-old country girl from the uplands just off Selfoss with a love for the outdoors and really everything related to the fresh air. She has a positive outlook on life and never takes life too seriously. Currently she resides in Reykjavik and works downtown in two popular entertainment venues in security. While she has witnessed very distressing situations she always wants to do everything she can to help people in challenging situations. Her future goals are to be a police officer. Her main hobbies are martial arts, self defense and wrestling.

Presenting Miss Gullfoss, Thelma Líf Heiðarsdóttir. Thelma Líf is 18 years old and has lived her entire life in Iceland and dosen’t get tired of her land. Leading a busy life for Thelma Líf includes being currently in school, working at a nursing home and helping out at her grandfathers restaurant. She hopes to one day follow in her grandfathers footsteps and take over the family business. Her hobbies include learning new languages, traveling and cosmetology. She speaks 2 languages fluently and is learning Spanish and also picking up the Thai language. She looks up to her mother and father and loves being with her family, friends and dog. Her life goals are to be a business owner and be financially stable to take care of her own family in the future.

Presenting Miss Hafnarfjordur, Mirjam Yrsa Friðleifsdóttir. Mirjam Yrsa is 24 years old and was born and raised in Hafnarfjörður. She has been dancing ballet and modern dance since she was 4 years old. Mirjam moved to New York City in 2016 to pursue her dream of becoming a professional dancer. She graduated from Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in Spring 2019 with her BA degree in Dance. Her hobbies include ballet, CrossFit, going to the gym, spending time with family & friends and has played the violin for 14 years. Mirjam enjoys trying new things and challenging herself by breaking out of her comfort zone!

Presenting Miss Kópavogur, Unnur Yr Olafsdottir. Unnur is 24 years old and was born & raised in the capital city of Reykjavík. She is a proud business owner and opened up her beauty salon last year. It was very educational planning and preparing for the opening of the business but she is proud of where she is today and what she learned along the way. She loves nothing more than going to work everyday and meeting with her awesome clients. She always makes time for her family and friends and her hobbies are focused on outdoor activities and living a healthy lifestyle.

Presenting Miss Land of Fire and Ice, Kiana Sif Limehouse. This 22 year old refers to herself as an old soul at heart. She is by nature very open and supportive to others.
In 2018, she spoke in front of over 1000 people at the annual slut-walk “Druslugangan”. Her personal story has been featured in the Icelandic media the past couple of years sharing her story as a survivor of abuse. She is passionate about fighting not only for her own rights but also for every single child, man or woman who has been abused. She wants to inspire people to turn their lives around and remind them that your past doesn’t necessarily dictate your future. People are capable of reaching and surpassing their goals with work hard. Kiana’s hobbies include tattoos and piercings, music, cooking/ baking and singing. L

Official Announcement from the Miss Universe Iceland Organization regarding the 2020 Miss Universe Iceland competition: In response to current COVID-19 impacts and guidance provided from government and medical officials, and with an abundance of precaution and safety for our contestants, judges, sponsors and guests, we have made the decision to postpone the 2020 competition from the original date of May 29, 2020 to August 21, 2020. The event will still be held at @hljomaholl Stapi Center. We thank everyone in advance for their understanding during these unprecedented times and appreciate your support going forward . So mark your calendars for Friday, August 21 for the national finals of Miss Universe Iceland 2020
