This year's Miss World competition, scheduled to take place Thursday in Puerto Rico, has been postponed after multiple people linked to the event - including 23 of the 97 contestants - tested positive for Covid-19.

At a Puerto Rico Health Department press conference Thursday, epidemiologist Melissa Marzán told reporters there had been 38 positive cases associated with Miss World: 15 staff and 23 contestants. She confirmed that pageant organizers, not the island's authorities, made the decision to postpone.

Globally Televised event stays in Puerto Rico!

Contestants from around the world will compete on March 16, 2022, for the coveted crown at Puerto Rico Coliseum Jose Miguel Agrelot.

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - The Miss World Organization is pleased to announce March 16, 2022, as the rescheduled date for the Miss World 2021 global telecast and its 70th anniversary finale live from the Puerto Rico Coliseum Jose Miguel Agrelot!

“We are so excited that we are staying in Puerto Rico to crown the new Miss World!” said Julia Morley, president of Miss World Ltd. “We have been overwhelmed by the support of the people here! The countdown and final planning has begun. Our team is thrilled that we will show all the wonders that Puerto Rico has to offer as a premier tourism destination to the entire world. We love Puerto Rico.”

Contestants from around the globe will return to the Isle of Enchantment to compete for the coveted Miss World crown in March. The pre-recorded content that has been taped throughout Puerto Rico during the past 4 weeks demonstrating its rich culture, beautiful landscapes, beaches and, most importantly, the warmth and friendliness of the people will be broadcast internationally during the finale.

“The filming in Puerto Rico has been exceptional -we have spectacular content to share with the world,” added Morley.

Miss World is the oldest and most prestigious international pageant, created in 1951. Annually, this event selects the woman who best represents the organization’s values. It’s the first time the Miss World Final will be held in a Spanish-speaking country and Puerto Rico was awarded the honor.

In the past 69 years, only 15 Latinas have won this prestigious event. Among the winning countries are Venezuela, with a total of six crowns, Puerto Rico has two crown winners, as well as Peru and Argentina. The Dominican Republic, Brazil and Mexico have one crown winner each. The two winners from Puerto Rico are Lady Wilnelia Merced Forsyth, Miss World 1975, and Stephanie Del Valle, Miss World 2016.

Only the Top 40 candidates will travel to Puerto Rico to compete in the coronation night scheduled on Wednesday, March 16 at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan.

Of those 40 semifinalists, fifteen (15) are the winners of the "fast-track" events, which have already been announced. The other 25 were chosen by the jury and will be announced within today.

The final phase of Miss World 2021 will take place March 13-16, when a new queen will be crowned by Toni-Ann Singh.

India Won Miss Universe 2021 Likewise, I wouldn't be surprised if India wins Miss World 2021, Countries whose winners of major international competitions in the world are always predetermined Suppose India did not win, at least it is possible to be in the top 5 or the winners will be the same countries (South American Countries, South Asian Countries, ) Other than a few or 10 countries participating in these competitions, other countries are competing not to win, but to make a dry crowd in the competition. It is a great miracle even for the female candidates of the countries that have no hope to win, to participate in these competitions only once, or it is an opportunity to take part in advertising agencies and sponsor companies.
It is enough to take a vacation for a few weeks, have fun, increase followers on social media, and play ads when you return to their country. Here's what I'm talking about, only for candidates who go to have fun, not to win.

Beauty pageants are organized only for a few or certain countries to exchange crowns with each other.
For example, when the Philippines wins, the Philippines wins again a few years later, or when India wins, the Philippines gives the crown to the Philippines, and the next year, the Philippines gives the crown to India, there is such a nonsense. Very Happy

Miss World pageants are always for a few countries Other Countries will never win.
