I dunno wether there's any die hard fan of Barbie dolls here in the forum, but just thought it would be a great news to share
!
Mattel has been hyping their massive flagship store in Shanghai for a while now and this past weekend, the $30 million ¡°House of Barbie¡± finally opened to generally rave reviews. Malcolm Moore of The Telegraph covered the opening, getting right to the point: ¡°I¡¯ll say it straight away - I think the store is the work of a clinical marketing genius and that it will be a huge success in Shanghai. ¡°
Rather than focus on the Barbie dolls, the six-story store features Barbie-themed clothing, jewellery, cosmetics, food and spa treatments, including the ¡°Plastic Smooth¡± facials (380 RMB, $55) or ¡°Barbie Bust Firming¡± treatments (380 yuan, $55).
With sales of Barbie falling 21 percent in the last quarter of 2008, Mattel is looking to the China market and a new retail experience to bounce back. And it¡¯s not just young women that Mattel is targeting, but their mothers as well
What better way for a fashion icon to mark her 50th birthday but with a bash in China's city of chic - Shanghai?
A half-century after Barbie's first appearance in a demure black-and-white striped swimsuit, a six-story, pink and sparkling Barbie Shanghai flagship store opens Saturday to a Chinese public that less than a decade ago couldn't even buy the iconic doll in local stores.
Mattel Inc., the world's biggest toy maker, is betting that its unabashedly "everything girls" store, complete with spa, cafe, design studio, fashion stage and of course, just about any Barbie-branded item imaginable, will be a hit with fashion-conscious Shanghai ladies, both young and older.

bubbles,me and veronica as exclusive collectors editions.........every single item for the logical price of 2.000.000 euros....i personally believe(with the voice of miss teen usa s. carolina) we worth more than that
