Miss Philippines, Isabel Rodriguez, 19, is resting in port Hueneme with her aunt after the grueling activities of the Miss Universe 1956 pageant. “The pageant was an inspiring but very tiring event, “ she said. “I knew I wasn’t going to be Miss Universe. I felt I didn’t have the qualifications the other girls had, but I know the judging was fair and that there was no discrimination against non-Caucasian entrants.”
