This photo was published on 17th July, two days before the final night. Cheryl Kupert, 19, who said she wanted to register at the Miss Universe 1957 contest in Long Beach, California as Miss Jupiter is shown being ushered from Municipal Auditorium Tuesday. She showed up in a scanty two-piece outfit wearing a pair of guns on her hips to discover that the contest is only for earth mortals. Miss Kupert was turned down cold even after telling contest officials where she was from: “Outer space.”
