On October 25, 2008 a jury in Hamburg, Germany named Zallascht Sadat (24 y.o., 176 cm), Miss Afghanistan 2008-2009. The pageant was held by Afghan Models. The contest was participated by women with Afghan heritage. Vida Samadzai was the first Afghan woman to participate in an international beauty pageant since 1974. However, Sadat is the first officially elected Miss Afghanistan since Zohra Yousuf Daoud was elected in 1972. She hopes to participate in Miss World 2009, Miss Earth 2009 and Miss Universe 2009.
