Botswana is back at Miss Universe?

This year, the Miss Universe Organization hinted that we should expect around 100 countries participating at the 73rd Miss Universe competition which means many debuts and comebacks

Among the countries that recently announced their return after many years are CUBA and BOTSWANA

Cuba debuted at Miss Universe during their inaugural edition in 1952. They competed a total of 14 times, last time being in 1967. Their best (and only) placements were top 15 in 1956 and 3rd runner-up in 1957.

Botswana debuted at Miss Universe in 1999 with a bang, winning the Miss Universe crown on their first attempt at competing. However, that remained their only placement out of the 8 times they participated. Last time Botswana competed was in 2013.
