LATINOAMERICA RECENTLY

America Latina is a power house of beauties which is never ignored at Miss Universe Pageant.

Eight latinas have been awarded with this Title of Beauty during the two past decades. Current queen Dayana Mendoza and former queens Zuleyka Rivera(06), Amelia Vega (03), Denisse Quiñones(01), Justine Passek(02), Alicia Machado(96), Dayanara Torres (93) and Lupita Jones (91) are just the top of an iceberg of beauties who have represented gracefully the Latino American countries and actually filled many or all the requirements to become a Miss Universe. We still have in our memory some other close shots to the famous Mikimoto crown: gorgeous Marena Bencomo in the Miss Universe of Miami Beach, the ultimate miss of sex appeal Joyce Giraud in Hawaii, impressive Renata Soñé, candid and sweet looking Monica Spears and fierce Laura Elizondo in the Miss Universe of Thailand, stunning Lourdes Arévalo in Los Angeles, whole package Taliana Fernández or the timeless beauty Elisa Nájera in Vietnam.

While Venezuela and Puerto Rico are by far the most admired nations in the “Miss Universe mania” world, we have 2 other countries which have been doing really well in recent times. We have as a remarkable fact Mexico´s best performance for a Latino country in the preliminary competitions of this pageant: 5 in a row semifinalist from 2004 to date, 2 of them actually ranked among the top 5. Also the good presentations of Dominican Republic can’t be unnoticed as well with Marianne Cruz being the last of them who made it last year.

1. DOMINICAN REPUBLIC!


Ada Aimee De La Cruz
Age: 23
Height: 1.83 m / 6'0"

Ada Aimé is already an icon of the Latin-American beauty in pageantry. As the biggest favorite for the Miss Dominican Republic crown this year she showed indeed the world her experience and fierceness on stage. Her silhouette is the perfect picture of a contemporary Miss Universe. In our opinion she possesses the most beautiful legs at the moment. Major resources of Ada are her charisma, naturally tanned uniform skin, her height, adorable hair and a good bone structure. Also, take into consideration that Ada will compete in the Caribbean, her geographical home, so we suppose she’ll have great support in Nassau.

Desi's Prognostics: Due to her experience she'll make the cut in the finals, due to her CARIBBEAN looks, height, and the FIECENESS she is showing since she was chosen MDRU 2009. We will not see the timid Ada that we saw in MW 2007, Ada will be noticed in MU< she is going there with one purpose: TO WIN

POKEMON´s prognostics: According to my planet Ada Aimé has behind her the PAGE of CUPS for the Prelims + the DEATH REVERSED if she makes the cut. She will make the cut straightforwardly. Expect to see her taking her spot during the final event. She has good chances to advance and make it in the top 5 but she must be careful not showing inertia in her performance: she must show new skills to impress the judges until the last moment and outshine the wave of flawless blonds attending the event.

2. PUERTO RICO!

Mayra Matos
Age: 20
Height: 1.78m / 5'10"

Mayra is physically graceful, very attractive. Facially special and we still don’t understand why she sometimes allows Photoshop for some shots. She got one of the prettiest faces that doesn’t need it at all. Expect to see a good or even a great swimsuit presentation during the prelims. Her body is quite harmonious. That’s why Mayra can dress almost everything without problems. After 2 somehow weak delegates during the last Miss Universe competitions, Puerto Rico emerges again with a outstanding delegate in the shape of Mayra, a fitness and fierce girl on stage. We like her either at home with her mother posing for the cameras, at model pasarela; in a red gown and of course we love her by the pool side.

Desi's Prognostics: Mayra has the power to place in the semifinals, but I do not see her in the Top-5, against her she has the MAGALY FEBLES SYNDROME, this is Magaly's last year as the owner of the MPRU Franchise and she is not preparing Mayra the way it's suppose to be, I guess Magaly being a Dominican Native, and all these years she did not pay too much attention to her Dominican delegates, I guess she is getting even now, but Mayra is paying now the consequence... Good Ridance, says Magaly.

POKEMON: According to my planet Mayra has behind her the VI of CUPS REVERSED before the final + If she makes the cut THE HERMIT REVERSED! So we can suposse she will have some problems. She will not top the list of the semifinalists due to bad strategies while presenting herself in front of the judges or some other factors. If she makes the cut she will be effortlessly kicked out from the top 5 or even top 10: she will not shine in Miss universe 09.

3. MEXICO!

Karla Carrillo
Age: 21
Height: 1.76m / 5'9 &half inches

Karla’s greatest attributes at the moment of winning Nuestra Belleza Mexico were without any doubt her sweetness and facial beauty which remain unaltered to date. At this moment she is offering also sparks of sexiness and refinement which proves how chameleonic and prepared she can be. With hard training and taking the best from the catwalk apartment, expect to see another decorous representation for Mexico at Miss Universe. She also has a strong sash factor due to the good performances of recent Misses Mexico and the name of Lupita Jones tattooed everywhere on her skin in her favor.

Desi's Prognostics: Karla since she was chosen Miss Mexico, many people has critisized her, calling her chubby and Miss Piggy, but this is not the first time that a delegate from Mexico are called like this. But the best is at the end, because this sweet girl has been quiet with her preparation and she will shut many mouths in MU.

According to my planet Karla has behind her the X of CUPS for the Prelims + the QUEEN OF CUPS REVERSED if she makes the cut. She has great possibilities of advancing to the semis. Her first card is a clear sign she will be considered BUT always after Ada Aimé. If she makes the cut, her presence on stage will provoke on the judges either affection and seduction... or deception. She has good enough merits for the semis. But If she makes the cut be ready to love her or hate her.

4. ECUADOR!


Sandra Vinces
Age: 18
Height: 1.80 m / 5'11"

Silence can be a good strategy for a girl who is actually very beautiful. Here we have the real dark horse for Latin America for this Miss universe. We haven’t ignored her and we actually see in her a promising performer.

Desi's Prognostics: She is not liked by many, but I liked her since the 1st day I saw her, she may not be the most pretty face in the pageant but she is SEXY, SEXY!! Her pics shows that, and I place her in my Top-15.

Pokemon´s Prognostics: She can be the dark horse for latin america, just like Iceland for Europe.






5. PANAMA!

Height: 1.70 m / 5'7"

Desi's Prognostics: Not a favorite of mine, not like some of Panamanians Misses that I saw before, simply not on my list, PLAIN JANE.

Pokemon´s prognostics:

[b]Diana possesses good amount of sex appeal. Her nose is her weakest point, but her silhouettes, hair, smile and aura can outshine it. While some delegates seem have reached a maximum point in their preparation, Diana is still growing and is full with surprises.

The V of Cups reveals Diana will not be happy with her performance during the prelims but the judges will be in general feel pleased. She will do it better than she believe and maybe her performance will be enough to make the cut. The second card reveals in the end she is not so impressive though.

entering in a gossip moment i must say...in the end Lupita hates a lot her "muchachas"... ´cause even she is aging gracefully she cannot compite nowadays in freshness and cuteness with many. she wants to be the one. The most attacked Miss Mexico by Lupita is probably Laura Elizondo, who is never invited to appear with her or to attend any official NB events. Fourtunately Laura has never payed attention to that and she is still fierce.
