Re: EUROVISION 2010 UPDATES - GERMANY!!!!!!!
Thanks to all countries that voted for Germany (almost all), especially to those who gave us 12 points, Slovakia, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Latvia... this shows that diaspora and neighborhood voting isn't always everything. This proves that Europe likes this song and this girl who didn't perform with her boobs out or a hurricane in her hair Simple, catchy, charming. Maybe the song was not the best (I preferred Belgium and Turkey) and her voice was not that great (Ireland, where did you finish??? ) and yes, maybe a financial aspect helped to take it all. But no one can say that this is all about politics. Why did we always finish on the last places during the last years? This year was Germany's turn and I hope that you guys here can be a little bit happy for us!
THANKS!!!
THANKS!!!

Congratulations Germany and Del!!!
It was a fantastic finale and night. And Lena was so charming, and well deserved winner.
The show was a bit dull in the begining, but when Greece entered the stage, the sprirt rose and after that it stayed high for the rest of the songs!
Maybe we'll go to Berlin next year.....

She behaved childish, but ok, that's her and people here like it. I was laughing, too, when she said "This is too heavy, I can't hold this all the time". But the question: "Do I have to sing NOW?" was a bit too much...
Thanks for the congrats!
Anyway, I was perplex about Russia's placement this year. "Only" 11th...
A funny thing: you know what people here said when Germany received 12 points so many times? "How much did we pay them???" Isn't it a shame? They can't simply be proud and happy and accept that they have won once in 30 years!
Pics from Lena's homecoming yesterday here at Hannover airport and later at the townhall where she was welcomed by 40.000 people, among them the Prime Minister of Lower Saxony and Hannover's mayor! Later she signed in to the Golden Book of the City of Hannover.

OMG, this makes me laugh!
At the end, Ukraine was for me the best entry of the ex-soviet countries. Armenia too wasn't bad at all, but Ukraine was special.

Yes it is! Greece and Turkey were really good acts. C'mon, Germany was complaining about this unfair treatment for almost 10 years! Always on bottom top 5, always talking about leaving the contest... Come to Germany next year and we will have some fun together! I hope we will be able to reach Norway's level! What a fantastic show. The flash mob dance was so fun to see...

Re: EUROVISION 2010 UPDATES - GERMANY!!!!!!!
Possible venue for ESC 2011 is Hanover, Lena's hometown. But a decision on this will be made mid June. Referring to statements by Lena herself and her mentor Stefan Raab Lena might participate again in ESC 2011...

Re: EUROVISION 2010 UPDATES - GERMANY!!!!!!!
Home sweet home
Eurovision week is behind us again and we have a new winner. Congratulations to GERMANY!!
Germany wasn't my biggest favourite, but I learned to like it during ESC week, if anyone remembers my prelist that I posted before ESC, ignore it. As usual, my list completely changed!!
Congratulations Del, I think it's great that one of the big 4 finally won. After years of sending songs that didn't do well, it's good to see that with the right song anything is possible and hopefully everyone who are still complaining about diaspora and all will stop!!! I think this 50/50 has made a difference, but some things just won't change. People are complaining about Russia getting so many points.... c'mon people. Peter Nalitch happens to be popular in ex-soviet countries, so can you blame them?
During televote:
1998 Israel
1999 Sweden
2000 Denmark
2003 Turkey
2005 Greece
2006 Finland
2009 Norway
2010 Germany
Doesn't really support the claims that only a country from Eastern Europe can win!
Finlands points
1 Ireland
2 Denmark
3 Turkey
4 Spain
5 Iceland
6 Belgium
7 Greece
8 France
10 Israel
12 Germany
Neighbourly voting? Really?
So anyhow, really sucks that Finland only lost with 3 points a place in the Final!! But what can you do?
I will miss Oslo, but I will not miss the prices in Oslo, man it's expensive. Looking forward to Germany next year, I wanna go to BERLIN!!!

Jimmy Jump arrested for second time in Oslo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SOURCE OIKOTIMES.com
Jimmy Jump, the "event invader" who interrupted Spain's Eurovision Song Contest 2010 performance, has been re-arrested in Oslo after the "law regarding foreign nationals" was invoked against him. Norwegian police went to Jimmy Jump's representative, Alex Sola's house, where the "professional invader" went after being released on Sunday on the payment of a 1,880€ fine.
Jimmy Jump was not there at the time, but he and Alex Sola went to the Oslo police headquarters later, thinking they were going to be questioned, only to find themselves separated on arrival, with Jimmy Jump being arrested again.
According to Sola, the Norwegian authorities have invoked their "laws regarding foreign nationals", which allows the detention of anyone they believe to be a threat to the security, health, order or peace of their country.
