i honestly dotn beleive michaeal really wanted to pick the girl the public said would do wel. he has been very rude since the girls were picked saying trinis need to stop being bitter and just respect his opion and his choice for the crown because non of us nkbow how to pick a beauty queen or could do better than himself. what would be even worse at this point would be if he designed her dress because his line at tnt fashion week can only be described as mostly tacky.

Wow, I did not know this. He chose the prizes?. I am so disappointed to know Michael told the judges to chose Ashanna. There were so many girls who seemed to be better than her. Just look at the goreous Chenelle standing there. How could Ashanna win over her?. Nadiege also looked great and so did Sunita. Ashanna is not bad but she is not typical beauty queen material. I wish Ashanna all the best and maybe her unique looks would be in her favor. But there were others better than her by far. Especially now knowing the judging was so influenced, it is sad. Because Peter Elias has been doing such a great job with the girls for so many years. It is a shame if this is the attitude he has. He need to learn from Peter Elias how to pick girls. I know its not Ashanna's fault and I hope she transform and do well. She looks better it seems in person than her pictures suggest. I think if she does the right things she can be transformed and do well at Miss World. I will give her a chance to prove herself. Lets see. But, this is sad to hear.

Hey man.....whey you been....it's been a while.....I agree man....I really feel bad for T&T.....I'm always fascinated by their BEAUTIES.....but I feel bad that the streak is broken, Caribbean is going to be very very very tough this year....I wish her all the best but I don't see it happening for her

everyone thoght for sure either megan suntia chenelle or nadije would win. michael is very hard headed and listens to no one and im positive he fixed this competion for th girl he favored. he even asmuch called the front runners cocky. and says that trini people who dont like this girl dotn have taste and are being sore losers

well his hard headedness produced perhaps the least attractive queen that trinidad and tobago has ever produced...not a good start methinks

How the hell this girl won is still a mystery and the new franchise holder looks like a pimp from out of the eighties. She was not even on par with some of the other girls. The whole show look tacky and cheap. Only hope for the Caribbean this year is DR, Barbados, Aruba and PR. And too Mario Miss Jamaica is a hot mess, stop fooling yourself she is nothing but a clapper.

I dont know how she won. Chenelle was obviously way better than her. They messed up with the selection process. This franchise holder needs to contact Peter Elias for some directions on how to chose the right girls.

I totally agree, we should all email them and complain about this wrong decision. Maybe something might happen and Chenelle can be sent instead of this girl. The screening for Miss Trinidad and Tobago Universe is on the 18th of october. I just hope Michael is not the franchise holder for this as well.

Hi Shelly, good to see you back. I totally agree with you. Ashanna has a good body, but in regards to facial beauty she does not have the standard of beauty Trinidad and Tobago usually sends to Miss World. I think overall the judges were good. The problems were with the franchise holder himself. He gaved them specific directions and requirements to chose the winner. There were only three girls with potential to do well at Miss World. Chenelle, Sunita and Nadiege. Chenelle should of been the winner. She is stunning and could of been transformed into a top contender at Miss World. I hope Ashanna can transform and do well. But, with Michael's attitude I dont think that will be as successful. She also just dont seem she can be transformed either. She just dont have what it takes. I dont want to write her off totally and hope she proves me wrong but I dont see it.

We can be happy that the new Miss Trinidad and Tobago Universe franchise holders are professionals who knows what they are doing. Peter Elias is back and will be working with them. There is high expectations that there will be a stunning and beautiful delegate at Miss Universe next year.

the word from a lot of locals here in trinidad is that ashanna shouldn't have been in the final lineup. sunita is beautiful but her answers were terrible and so contrived. nerves i guess. nadiege's dress was her downfall, audience members said, and i quote "who sent the girl on stage in a curtain?" her interview answers werent so impressive either. chenelle kept going on and on and ooonnnn during the interview sections and using phrases like "ya kno wa i mean"...with training i hope that DISAPPEARS because shes one of my favourites for the miss universe title. it needs to disappear. she was talking so much that people kept clapping to get her off the stage, but she kept talking. sadly a lot of people still are saying she did not deserve the 1st runners up spot because of that. danielle, i was interested in what she had to say, like chenelle, she was so relatable, and smart! their trainer apparently told her that she needs to inject some energy into her speaking voice, which i agree with. and from wht i know from her modelling gigs her swimsuit body is on point but it really wasnt on the night. dnt kno wat to say about that one! but both her and chenelle were the only ones who didnt sound rehearsed, they were natural. meagan i think would hav had something interesting to say if she went further, shes obviously a bright girl. throughout the ENTIRE process, BAD STYLING hindered a lot of the girls. example, in some of their swimsuit shots, why put pink lipstick on chenelle? why put so much makeup on danielle so that she doesn't look like herself at all? and why was arveyannes facial makeup darker than the rest of her body? whoooo did the makeup it was horrible!
one thing that really bothered me about the crowd was that when danielle was on stage answering a question, someone in the crowd was heard saying LOUDLY that she has doesn't deserve to be on stage because a white girl can't represent trinidad and tobago. bullshit. it really upset her backstage afterwards apparently.

o well..everythings all said and done, ashanna is going to south africa, so i wish her luck and i hope she has SOMETHING to make the judges notice her and put her in the final 15.
in any case i think some of the judges were confused by the final choice. just saying. o and btw...michael was saying the frontrunners in the competition were what? cocky?? who did he consider the frontrunners to be then? and i doubt any of them were cocky..they seem like a nice group, confidence does not equal cockiness or arrogance.

i listened to an interview ashanna did with chenelle and danielle on 95.5, wendy fitzwilliam and some heavy media weights were there asking tough questions, and they held their own. they even cheered for ashanna at one point because her answers were so well put together. i spoke to danielle and chenelle and they were so proud of ashanna because at one point when she was answering a question, wendy was going to interject but decided not to because ashanna said just what wendy wanted to make a point of, and she gave her two thumbs up. to get wendy's seal of approval means something!
ashanna also had her hair done and it suits her MUCH better...they gave her kind of a sideways bang..which works better for her because when her hair is slicked back like on the night of the show, it makes her forehead look big. i heard her talent, piano, is impressive so fast-track? maybe? so i'm hoping for big things from her! we have to hope for big things from her, thats what t&t is accustomed to!
