Welcome to Aiden's Miss Bahamas Pre-Assessment Review!!!!

Each Contestant will be evaluated in three main categories: Photo Presentation, Swimsuit and Interview on a scale from 1 - 10.

Let us begin with Group 1.


NAME: Alia Sands
AGE: 22
HAIR COLOR: Dark Brown
EYE COLOR: Brown
HEIGHT: 5”5

Alia is an attractive girl....with a nice cool savy to her look and voice. She strikes me more of a professional woman type...the one you see dressed in an office in power-suits. That's not a bad thing....but her look doesn't really translate to a pageant type beauty. Her body is okay but she's not as lean as the photo suggests she can improve more. Also at 5ft 5 her height doesn't really give her much advantage. She has nice skin and her hair is neat in the photo....As for communication skills she speaks fairly well....but can come accross a bit dull and lack luster. In the end, I think she presented herself to the best of her ability!



NAME: Amy Sands
AGE: 27
HAIR COLOR: Black
EYE COLOR: Dark Brown
HEIGHT: 5’3

Final Score - 8.21

Despite being short...(yeah she's like 5ft 3")...Amy is a strong communicator....she knows how to conduct herself in an interview and how to get her points across. She just needs to work on her elocution because she can sound monotonous at times. This girl has a fairly attractive face...pretty...I love the shape of her eyes....they are expressive...and she does have nice hair.....her body is lean....but her height is a factor. As the competition continues we will have to see if she capitalizes on what she has and makes the first cut....but I don't see her going to the top 5.




NAME: Anastagia Pierre
AGE: 21
HAIR COLOR: Brown
EYE COLOR: Hazel
HEIGHT: 5’ 10”

Anastagia, Anastagia, Anastagia.....this girl is a chameleon....She knows how to go from being demure to being fierce...and then to an amped up sex-vixen....not sex-kitten, but sex-vixen....remember she's FIERCE!!!!....that is why she chose the Phoenix as her animal spirit. Anastagia has an interesting face....the eye will always be drawn to it and will search it for many things....expression, health, youth, beauty...etc. I'm in love with her eyes'....even though they are a little wide set I love their colour. Her body is very womanly....it's curvy...lean and curvy....and she does have wide hips....not necessarily a bad thing....however her strongest asset for me are her communication skills......She speaks very well and knows how to gesture, express and convey her thoughts without being excess. She seems very natural in interview and has impeccable eye contact (it's like she has been here before)....She also has a very nice smile!.....My prediction definite top 3. However, As the frontrunner she will have to work hard to keep it because there are others who could upset her status!

I like Azaria's pics.....she's really cute....her smile....her spunk...and I love her hair....very NICE!!!...She's also one of the tallest girls in the pageant standing at 6ft 1". She has a fairly decent body; lean with legs for days...YUM!!!....She has a very nice skin tone and expressive eyes. Yet, I felt that her interview was a bit weak...She was a bit boring for me in the tone of voice....she does need to work on elocution and also on enunciation. It's not good to drop the endings of words...She could be a little more expressive. However, if she pulls her self together she could make the first cut....



NAME: Braneka Bassett
AGE: 20
HAIR COLOR: Brown
EYE COLOR: Brown
HEIGHT: 5’ 9”

Braneka is the "Face of the Pageant" and this years "Miss Photogenic".....she knows how to bring it in every picture....I love her features....her face is soooooo gorgeous and those eyes are to die for.....I'm also very impressed with her posture and I can tell that she has experience as a model. She knows what to do. Braneka also has the best body in the pageant. Her body is proportionate, lean, toned, yet curvy and sexy. She is also a chameleon and can transfrom from a Sex-Goddess to a Demure, Elegant Beauty. I love her hair especially when it's straight and wind blown. I can see Braneka doing well at both Miss Universe and Miss World if crowned. Her frame is also very good for carrying elegant Haute Couture dresses. Inside sources have made me aware that Braneka is a favourite of current Miss Universe Stefania. She fell in love with Braneka's look and overall presentation. Braneka is a fairly decent communicator but that's an area that she needs to work on. I know that it's her personality to be spunky and natural but she should work on her elocution. At times she sounded like the cute girl from Brooklyn and then She sounded like the girl from up-town Freeport. She also needs to watch her gestures. They were a bit excess for me. The head twitch from side to side was distracting. However, I do love her expression as well as smile which lights up the room. My prediction, definite top 3!!!!!

Great reviews Aiden...however, I found Braneka's interview to be great...it sounded very genuine and natural and yes, she made some gestures, but I think it was fine.....we've seen those kind of interviews before and the girls went on doing well in the pageant...one name that comes to mind is Dayana Mendoza...her interview was sincere and from the heart.

That's true Canuck....I liked her interview but I'm evaluating them from a communication specialist point of view, which I am......so while it was good there are areas she can improve on. Trust me tho....this girl is shining!!!!

I agree with Canuck1986. I found Braneka's interview to be refreshing, to say the least. Very natural, down to earth, and AUTHENTIC! She was the most believable, no signs of rehearsed answers like some of the others. You can tell she does not have any pageant experience, and I mean that in a GOOD way, as opposed to the pageant veterans who came across as if they were just going through the motions, as they were taught to.

all the girls are beautiful,but this one is exceptional.

ill tell you like i see it - as far as i am concerned there are but two girls in this pageant (anastagia and braneka) the bahamas will and can only benefit from FIERCE queens to compete globally - for ears now we have been the nation of clappers and as such the girl we send must be able to break that monotony and stun and surprise and win the world over the way lea did for barbados at miss world... but this time even more... braneka is a natural girl who does not need softening in her photos...she actually looks better with less make up...she actually is more stunning in candids not many people can boast of that ability to transfer real-time into fierce...two nights ago braneka tore up during rehearsals and all who in attendance saw her as the 'girl to beat' - to me, she is the most well rounded for both pageants and will definitely earn the bahamas a placement and or maybe even the crown...

anastagia is no doubt a beautiful girl - she is a pageant veteran AND that may work against her - her energy and movement seems to be predicated b technique and not soul...it shows...in her eyes and in her movement...also working against her is her signature look - she has a distinct beauty almost too distinct and her face can come across almost mask-like - this concerned me because someone evaluating her ma either love or not love...for the stakes we are up against in the bahamas and with a potential stunner and possibly the top black beauty in the pageants...i’d say don’t gamble and send braneka...

I like your assessment Blackmagic and i agree with you, send Braneka...she will be an amazing representative and may finally put the bahamas in the spotlight in MU.

Interesting thoughts BMG......I am lovin' Braneka more and more....I was able to watch the Miss Bahamas Backstage Pass Reality TV show on ZNS.....and I was impressed. All of the girls were well put together and a lot o them actually looked better on camera screen than in the photos themselves. This competition is between Anastagia and Braneka but I have to agree with you on Braneka. After seeing her tonight.....WOW...I was completely enamoured....I do believe that Braneka's look can fit both pageants and I'm really lovin' her more and more.

As for Anastagia....she does seem to be stuck with one look and she has to go by whether her distinct look is in or out. I know that she is still a strong contender....

Yet, at this point....I'm really considering Braneka more and more!!!!!

Great assessment Aiden...I thank you for that. My favorite is by far Braneka Bassett, the girl is the total package...then come Anastagia Pierre and Janay Pyfrom.

Thanks Tidus and Canuck ....I'm really really excited......Braneka is my frontrunner now....she is the total package and has what it takes to win both pageants. I still like Anastagia a lot and I wouldn't be upset if she won.....however, Anastagia is a love her hate her type of contestant.....What I've come to realize about Anastagia is that her face is undeniably beautiful....and I may have underestimated how her look translates on Camera.....so I may have to award her the "Face of the Pageant" title.....It's kinda sad that we have two strong girls competing for just one crown......I wish I could crown both....but for now...Braneka is IT!!!! and I want to see her win....she is BEAUTIFUL!!!!.....Look out for my final assessment of the girls between this weekend and next.
