Bangalore girl Nicole Faria, Miss Earth 2010, is bursting with joy. Her eyes sparkle as she gives that million dollar heartstopping smile and says, “I’m so excited. I’m going home this Christmas. And it’s more special because I’ve won the crown. It will be an eventful celebration.”

Nicole has wonderful Christmas memories. “Christmas has always been a time to connect with God, with myself, and have a whole lot of fun at family gettogethers,” she says. “Singing carols is my favourite part of the celebration. Also, I’m a big foodie and can never resist the special sweets and dishes prepared for Christmas.”

So what does Nicole want from Santa this year? “I strongly feel that every child deserves an amazing childhood, the kind that I had, a childhood of fond memories and great opportunities. I want to contribute in any way I can and I hope that everybody in the world comes together to do that,” she replies.

What are Miss Earth’s plans for 2011? “I live for the moment and look forward to each day with a spirit of doing more and achieving greater heights. I know 2011 has some great moments in store for me which will make for great memories. Also, I’m associated with a lot of environmental conservation programmes on which work has already started. I’ll continue that in 2011,” says Nicole.

Considering her fascination for acting, isn’t she talking up any films? “I’ve always been fascinated with acting and see myself doing films, too. I have offers, but I am waiting for the right time and the right script,” says the dusky beauty.
