What environmental project will you create to promote the protection of Mother Earth and why?
I hope to go into the schools and establish a connection with our students enrolled in our Marine life programs to form a group that aims to bring awareness and help in the fight against overfishing and water pollution. The preservation of our marine life and ecosystem is very important to our country's tourism and livelihood. I plan to also continue to work with organizations like the Bahamas National Trust in the fight towards Marine Conservation.
What makes you proud of the country you are representing, and what can you promote about your country?
A true island girl at heart, I grew up on the island of Grand Bahama, this city is not as fast paced as the Capital New Providence but it was just right for me. The people of the Bahamas, in general, are relaxed, friendly and hardworking. We as a people never let the status of being a 3rd world country hold us back from devoting our lives and livelihood to excellence. The Bahamas may be small in size, but the people of this nation have a determination that allows us to make an extra effort to leave our mark wherever we go. I am a young Bahamian woman who also had a lot of goals and refused to let the idea of being from a "small island" keep me from reaching my BIG dreams. I represent a people of dreamers and fighters and that's why I am so proud to have this opportunity!
The Bahamas is so unique because it's made up of many different islands, each that have their own culture. You can go to many countries and experience there the sun, sand and sea, but only in the Bahamas can you visit Grand Bahama for a laid back experience, Nassau for an exciting night life you will never forget, Harbor island for its beautiful pink sand beaches or even Eleuthera to visit there Glass Window Bridge. You can come to one country and have a hundred different unique experiences. This is what I feel most people would love if they took the opportunity to visit the lovely islands of the Bahamas.

Re: Kerel Pinder (BAHAMAS 2011)
Freeport, Grand Bahama Island - On November 13, 2011 Miss Bahamas Earth hosted her official Send Off Party at Rooster's in Freeport in honour of her sponsors. Miss Bahamas Earth said she wanted her send-off party to be a little different. Instead of revealing her wardrobe as in most pre-pageant events, she decided to showcase items from the sponsoring stores that were still available for purchase, as a way to give back to them, and to also keep her wardrobe a surprise for her upcoming participation at Miss Earth in Thailand. She promises to keep everyone updated through her Facebook Fan page with the wardrobe she will be wearing while competing overseas.
The send off evening was filled with fashion, fierce models, and a whole lot of partying. The event was hosted by Dj Sky of Mix 102, and the fashions that were showcased were Divine Beauty / Leshan Ferguson; Yorz / Tommi, a new line of hair pieces; Complex Apparel / David Wallace; and Creative Eyes Costumes / Da Dawn Charlton Pinder. Da Dawn is also the designer of Kerel’s warrior costume that she will take to Miss Earth, and the theme for this year’s Miss Earth is “Forest Warriors”. The fashion show also featured gowns from some of Kerel’s most faithful sponsors, Seventeen and Bandolera.
Kerel feels that it is very important to thank everyone who supported her in her journey to Miss Earth, so she ended the evening’s program by publicly recognizing all her sponsors.
Kerel is truly grateful for all the love and support given to her by the Miss Bahamas Beauty Organization and the sponsoring companies that came on board. She promises to do her best to make The Bahamas proud!

Re: Kerel Pinder (BAHAMAS 2011)
Kerel with the Brownies of Gravin Tynes Primary School, Nassau Bahamas.
A dream became a reality when Kerel Pinder Miss Bahamas Earth had the opportunity recently to travel to Abaco on a two-day school tour promoting her platform, "Protecting our Marine Life" . Kerel had the honour of speaking to eight different schools on the island, thanks to her gracious sponsors SkyBahamas and her host, the Abaco Pageantry Systems, under the direction of the president, Mr. Tjay Stubbs.
Fulfilling her pledge when winning the Miss Bahamas Earth title, to not only spread her platform throughout her birth island of Grand Bahama, but throughout the entire Bahamas, she said, "It is definitely much more convenient to do projects and programs on the island where you reside, but The Bahamas is made up of much more than Nassau and Grand Bahama, and having the opportunity to make an impact on the other islands makes holding a national title very rewarding."
Kerel was accompanied by Miss Abaco International Chandi Lowe and committee members of Abaco Pageantry Systems; Mr Tjay Stubbs, Mrs. Cyndi Hollingsworth and Mrs. Major as she carried out her school tour. On her first day she had a full day traveling to Cooper's Town Primary, Treasure Cay Primary, Abaco Central High and Long Bay All Age School.
During her speech, Kerel outlined ways that the students can help to "save our environment", focusing more on her personal platform of marine life protection. Excited to meet the national queen, the students enthusiastically participated and some were given the chance to come to the stage and recite back the tips Keral taught them. Those that were successful received a personal photo of Miss Bahamas Earth, along with a bookmark with tips on protecting our marine life. After a full morning Kerel and the committee were treated to a delicious lunch by Snappas Restaurant and in the evening a tasty dinner was provided by Mango's Restaurant.

On day two, Kerel had the opportunity to travel to the local Bahamas Ministry of Tourism office where she met with the staff and was also afforded the opportunity to be interviewed by the local newspaper The Abaconian. She and her hosts then traveled first to Central Abaco Primary where the 800 student body welcomed her and Miss Abaco International with a Junkanoo Beat. Later that day she went on to visit Agape Christian School, Forest Heights and Saint Francis de sales Catholic School. The students were very excited and asked the queen for autographs.
"The two days in Abaco, are two that I will never forget. When I was a child having a beauty queen come to my school is a memory I carry with me always, and the fact that I got to make that same impact, not only in Grand Bahama, but on another island in The Bahamas makes my reign so much more rewarding! " I forward to traveling to other islands throughout The Bahamas during my reign ."
There's more! When arriving back to Nassau, Kerel did not allow her in-transit visit to go in vain. On Saturday morning she visited Garvin Tynes Primary where she spoke to the school's Brownies group on "Proper Table Etiiqute". "I had a great time with the young ladies and trust that they will apply the tips they learned into their future!" she said.
"I want to also thank the Miss Bahamas Beauty Organization and director Ms. Gaynell Rolle who has given me the freedom and encouragement to continue to spread my platform throughout my reign." Miss Bahamas Earth would like to thank her sponsors, SkyBahamas Airlines and the Abaco Pageantry Systems for scheduling the school tours, providing on-island transportation, and meals during her stay.
Kerel Pinder receives a gift from Wynsome Ferguson, Ministry of Tourism Abaco Manager.
