Ines Ligron -worldwide competition where no politic. or business decision will ever come across the results
Ines ( the former director of Miss Universe Japan) says:
I am very happy for Angola. She is a natural beauty, a stunner with a humble personality and I loved her answer during the interview segment. I loved Philippines also in the top 5.
No Greece or Malaysia? I am sad for Malaysia. Something happened that she was not in the top 16. There are many political reasons always for having girls just cut out from Miss Universe choice at the end. Ask last year winner Stefania Fernandez what happens behind the scenes. She can tell you…. and a few other winners as well.
This is why I decided to start my own worldwide competition earlier this year. A concept where no political or business decision will ever come across the results. Stay tuned.
I know…. It is only a superficial beauty pageant most might say, but behind the scenes there are so many people involved with honest and high expectation, (natonal directors, local organizers, country licensees, coaches, designers ect…) that it hurts when you feel robbed and you cannot say anything because you will hurt yourself furthermore anyway
Do not tell me that Venezuela, Panama, Australia or France should have been there instead or Ukraine and Brazil… please….! But I am very happy with Angola being the winner, it is a fair result.
I am sooooooo glad not to be part of it anymore….. being a spectator and having a free voice now is the best feeling in the world.
Much love to all!

I don't know if some countries will boycott MU next year, but if MUO keeps on ignoring some regions/countries (lets say countries where Islam is the main religion like Malaysia, Egypt, Indonesia, Turkey, Lebanon; and other countries that have been participating in MU for many years and getting very little to no recognition at all like the Aruba, Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Mauritius, etc), these countries will get fed up of always being ignored and might in the future just end their relationship with MUO.

What is it with Beauty Pageant today? I just came here to tell about Miss Finland, Pia Pakarinen, renouncing to her title due to the lack of support from The Organization. This is bound to change things in Finland...

I don't know what contestants (and winners) expect, they're nothing more than figures on a chess board. Accept this or not. It makes no sense to always complain, as long as the national orgs are ready to pay the franchise fees (or more?), girls will compete...
Considering Greece: Miss Greece is every year one of the most hyped contestants in MU, that's a fact. Nothing to say against that Greece pageant fans are proud of their reps. But it's so easy to loose the sense for reality. Keep your feet on the ground and watch the other contestants as well, maybe you will understand why your girl doesn't place. This year was special because I thougth that Iliana made a good prelim performance...

Re: Ines Ligron -worldwide competition where no politic. or business decision will ever come across the results
I agree with Del. The Greek delegates are way too overrated. Colombia shouldn't make it over Greece but I'm not surprised Greece didn't make it. I didn't understand the hype at all. "Close to the crown" etc. Greece wasn't that much better than many other candidates. The hype around Greece was out of control especially from the greek fans. The same with Malaysia. I didn't get all the hype around her. I expected her to miss the cut to be honest.
That being said, I think this is the worst MU pageant in along time. Totally boring, with bad events, bad top 5 and bad winner. I didn't like it at all.
