The Unforgettable Top 6 of all time!!!!

Miss Universe Pageant 1994, an spectacular top 6, where the homegirl Charlene Gonzales was between the finalist, fulfilling with pride one of the most beautiful countries of Asia, Philippines.
This was the edition with the highest score in evening gowns, and the tallest contestant of all times, and unforgettable top 3 and the first Indian woman to be crowned Miss Universe.
I believe this was the only year in the 90's which had a lot of stunning girls who didnt make it to the semi, should have been there a top 15, it would be a very tough fight for the girls.Among my favourites who didnt make to the semi were Misses Belgium, Australia, Thailand and Russia.

I know i know hehe. But she was lovely that night. I was expecting Rea to be up there too because she was one of the highest placers during the prelim but she seemed 'not in her fighting form" in the final night.

Yes Lucky, Colombia, i really love her. I can still mimic what she said in the opening number and take note with same pose and head turning omg hahahaha.

i ve heard 2 different stories on that......
1.Rea never wanted to be up there. she was bitchy with the national director,asking to leave philippines from the day that a bomb happening occured(i remember that on the news too)....lots of crying,lots of nerves and unwillyngness to compete. she never believed she would have been called either. tha national director said that her self esteem was very low.Her catwalk the final night proves that something went wrong(as the 2nd best preliminary result cant end up last).
2. Many people accuse the MU organisation of being extremly poor on providing the contestants the needed to compete. One person that i know claims strongly that there were no enough hairstylists and as a result Rea ended up doing her hair alone as noone else was there to do it for her...as a result her hair looked a tragedy. i dont know what to believe...cause if thats true how rea ended with those crappy hair and shusmita and carolina flawless...??????[/color]

This is the first time I heard of that. @your number one, I do not think so, cause I watched the prelim live on a national television and she did not seem she did not want to compete, she was fighting that night!

yeah...i dont know what to believe.......on Reas case anymore.....but regardless if the 2nd theory is true or not.....her hair were awful.....noone preofessional could have done this mess.....

yes. rea was better during the presentation show! better hair and what warm smile (like taliana's).

I never got her either UNTILL I saw the Miss USA pageant. She just had this sophisticated elegance to her.And if nothing else, at least she took the mouthing "Thank You" into a new level

I wished fior Greece to be included since the Q&A was just 1/3 of the score, but, hey it's the Philippines! We have very "strong ties" with the USA since 1898...

i agree with you, but definitelly withou miss usa...not even TOP 10 material...but probabla yone of the best top 5 miss universe has ever had...happy to see slovak republic there

Anthony, its off-topic but i have a doubt... why did u write "the" philippines? typing mistake or is the case of Philippines similar to "the" USA or "the" UK...

i dont find miss usa beautiful..yeah i saw miss Belgium that year shes so fierce

The word "the" should always precede "Philippines" when using it as a noun like in the case of The Netherlands.
