Allahabad's first beauty queen, PFMI Earth Prachi Mishra, returned to her hometown amid much fanfare.

A heavy dose of maa ka pyaar was just what the doctor had ordered for Pantaloons Femina Miss India Earth 2012, Prachi Mishra. After months of gruelling preparation, followed by her win, Prachi was back at home in Allahabad over the last weekend. On the cards were chaat, meeting up with friends, and of course, maa ke haath ka khaana.

Prachi Mishra may be the first Allahabadi girl to win a beauty pageant, but that certainly has not quenched her desire to achieve more. Amid the grand reception she got on reaching back home for a short visit on April 13, she stresses that this is just the beginning. "This is the first feather in my cap, my next target is Vietnam," claims the beauty queen, referring to the Miss Earth competition that will take place there, and adds, "Jab Miss India ke liye jaa rahi thi toh family and friends se ultimatum mil gaya tha ki agar jeeti nahi toh shaher mein wapas nahi aa paogi!"

Back home with the crown now, Prachi says, "Since the time I arrived, not just people from my extended family, but even those living in the neighbourhood kept coming home to congratulate me. This warmth is something I missed in Mumbai, as no one from my family could make it to the event."

She tells us about her plans for the next few days, "I have a long to-do list. From going to Medical chauraha to have my favourite chaat, to gorging on Netram's famous kachori and Dehati's gulab jamun, I've planned on doing everything before leaving. But my biggest priority is to visit the Vindhyachal temple. I am a spiritual person and would like to thank God for everything He has given me so far."
