Marie Hughes (21) was crowned Miss Ireland 2012 at the Ballsbridge Hotel in Dublin. She will represent Ireland in Miss World 2012 in Ordos, Inner Mongolia on August 18.

If Irish media reports are to be believed say that Marie Hughes has been asked to step down as she won't fit the age criteria of MWO . The first runners up Rebecca McGuire will represent Ireland at Miss World 2012 .There is no official announcement yet .
