Is Rina Chibany Albanian?

One Albanian website posted an article stating that Miss Lebanon 2012 Rina Chibany is originally Albanian, and that her father’s surname is Shabani not Chibany, he had immigrated to Lebanon for work and that’s where he met her Lebanese mother, got married with her, and had twin girls.
That is false information but I guess it’s flattering that Albanians are claiming Rina is their country girl – that says something about her!

She is a beauty indeed! She has something the other girls don't have....an air of mystery and a realness about her. I truly hope she is called at the pageant--along with some new countries instead of the same countries year after year.

Unfortunately, I think the MUO can ignore her even though she is absolutely stunning. Lebanon doesnt mean anything in MU and this could go against her. We know how MUO loves to make business with the same countries. I really hope Lebanon, along with some countries that rarely place, make it to the semifinals this year.

Their choices made MU a local pageant! It' s sad that every year we have to think there are 5 latinas, 1 or both of Fadil's girls, miss USA and there are 7-6 spots left for the others

As for Rina I look at her and I say she can't be ignored...
and then I think of Deborah Henry and Ilianna Papageorgiou Sad

It's really sad to see in which direction beauty pageants are going these days ... Money and politics are more important than the real beauty ... Evil or Very Mad

Νo she is not! She released a statement that she is 100% Lebanese , she is sad aboout the whole thing and asked from the public not to spread the lies of an unreliable gossip site. Her father was born and raised in Zahlé, Lebanon and he is a dentist.

This is a new era for the Miss Lebanon competition which is now organised by the Ministry of Tourism!
The goverment seems to have big plans for the competition because they believe this could give a boost in tourism. Winners will be embassadors for Lebanese Tourism!
If it was not for the tension in the territory Lebanon would gladly host a big beayty pageant!

The twins get extra attention from the media, much more than previous winners, and Lebanese beauty fans believe that the twins could win both MU and MW (and I agree, the girls have the potential). They compare them to their Miss Universe 1971 Georgina Rizk, and praise their fashion sense!

If you think Rina was not happy for winning ...you are wrong! She felt that she was taking away her sister's dream since Romy always wanted to be miss Lebanon! In fact Romy entered first and when the organizers found out about her twin, they asked Rina to enter, too!
Rumor has it that a lot of money are invested in Rina's preparation and wardrobe.... (I've always wanted to see Ellie Saab on MU stage could this be the time?)

Their last name Chibany in Arabic means elder, ancient
