Most of the national costumes, have nothing to do with the country, they look like carnival costumes! I am in favor of original national costumes like the one miss Germany wore!!

"Original National Costumes" are an 19th Century Germanic National Romantic invention. Only countries struggling for independence and/or in need to build a strong National Identity in that time period really have them. In my opinion, you shouldn't punish a contestant for coming from a different historical/cultural context or not feeling in touch with that tradition. What's important is the contestants' capacity to bring forth something of her country and culture.

Parade Of Nations was my favorite part of MU (along with Q/A's with the sound proof box) as a kid in the 1980's . I always loved the South American Carnival Costumes. Having, this year, a Miss Finland, who absolutely nailed this part, having a superb presentation in a truly beautiful fantasy gown, brought tears in my eyes.

Wow-many things happened to Miss Sweden this past days! First her eveninggown got tourished during eveninggown-presentation so she had to borrow a size 6 dress and pinn it in behind to make it fit. Sabotage anyone??

And so during the National Costume she sprained her ankle and could not attend the event!!

Poor Hanni! Hope she´s doing well come Wednesday and the finale!!

She also burned herself on her face (just a little) while she was using a curling iron!! Poor girl! I wish her only good lack from now on!!!

Sorry eja, but really, there isn't no way Hanni is an American size 2, the size of her original gown! Not from her hips, not from her waist, certainly not from her boobs (although, I think Americans do make dresses larger on that department, I can fit Ralph Lauren size 4 tops, and I have something up there too...). She looks like a healthy 94/68/96, which would be more like American Size 6, even Size 8 for some chichi European brands converting to American sizes. Not model size, but I actually think these are perfectly acceptable measures for a beauty queen. Either the gown was too small to begin with, or she has gained some weight after fitting it before the competition. Her size 6 dress fitted perfectly, pinned in or not, obviously the hemline couldn't be fixed on such a short notice.

I don't think she used word "sabotage" in her blog, I don't think it's playing in her advance to use it here either.
