Besides conquering the Miss India International 2013 title, Zoya Afroz initially proved her mettle by conquering the state pageant, Miss India Indore 2013.For the do-eyed, Zoya, winning the Miss India International was a dream come true and now her next step is to make India proud by winning the Miss International crown.

Zoya, who hails from the city of Lucknow, spoke to us soon after she was crowned Pond's Femina Miss India 2013 2nd runner-up on the 50th edition of the pageant on Sunday night in Mumbai.

How do you feel after winning the crown?
All my life, I have dreamt of becoming Miss India and now that I am a beauty queen, having lived my dream I feel proud of myself. The whole feeling of being Miss India International is just amazing and the first thought which came to my mind after being crowned was that I will definitely make India proud and get the International crown which is my only aim right now.

Does the crown make any difference?
The crown does make a difference as I have lots of responsibilities to fulfill now. Being an idol for all the young girls in our country is not an easy task. But as a person, I am the same confident and pleasing young girl who wants to make a difference to the society and improve it for good.

What difference you want to make to the society, now that you have the crown and power in your hand?
Violation against women is a cause which is really close to my heart and being a women myself I can understand the pain and suffering that the victims go through. I would want such things to change in my country, so that it becomes a better and a safer place to live in for women. I support the cause and would work towards it and now that I have the crown and the power in my hand, I want no girl child to be killed, no women to get raped or sexually harassed in my country.

If not you, who else do you think deserved the crown?
The amount of confidence I have and the hard work that I have put in to achieve this title, I think I totally deserved to be crowned as Miss India.

Is Bollywood the inevitable next step?
Acting has always been my passion and it's something that I love doing and having an experience in the film industry has always helped me. Yes, Bollywood is inevitably the next step but only after my International pageant is over where I will surely make India proud.

What's next in pipeline?
Right now my focus is on winning the International pageant and training for that will start soon and I am looking forward to it.
