Miss Coahuila Abigail Elizalde Romo was crowned Miss Earth Mexico 2008 in an beauty pageant held at the Yucatan Convention Center. She is 23 years of age and stands at 1.83m tall. Abigail will be travelling to Manila, Philippines to compete at Miss Earth 2008 Beauty Contest on November 9.Declared as the 1st and 2nd runners-up were the representatives of Jalisco and San Luis Potosi.

The representative of Mexico at the Miss Earth beauty contest of 2008, Abigail Elizalde Romo, bet today in Manila by educating the youth, who are the future, to save the environment.
Elizalde pushes an initiative to raise awareness among students about the problems plaguing the nature because, in her view, is the only way to change the world.
The Mexican beauty, 23, also spoke about other problems in her country like drug trafficking and lack of security.
"We are passing a very critical moment, but the situation is improving," she added.
Elizalde explained that "if society is in harmony, people have to find a solution on the inside, because despite having insecurity in the world, peace can be found only within you."
An engineer in electronic systems, hopes to return to her country with the crown after the end of next Sunday but if not, will not return empty handed because among other 84 candidates she was awarded best in swimsuit.
