Miss Supranational final: Top 20 will compete in underwear fashion

For the first time in history, a Grand Slam pageant will showcase candidates hitting the runway wearing panties and bras. That’s correct: the 20 semi-finalists of Miss Supranational 2013 will compete in underwear fashion. Other surprises are reserved for tomorrow’s big final event and election of Miss Supranational 2013, live from Minsk, Belarus. It will be shown on tv in over 90 countries, with a potential audience of 1.2 billion viewers. 84 candidates (Miss Curaçao found out she was pregnant during the competition and Miss Scotland withdrew) will enter the Palace of Sports mesmerizing stage hoping to bag the crown, sash, and USD 25.000 cash-prize. Global Beauties had access to the dress rehearsal, and here are some useful informational for those who will watch the show tomorrow night:
* Initially, the candidates were divided in 5 groups: Americas, Africa, Asia & Oceania, Europe 1 and Europe 2. They will be introduced to the public wearing their national costumes;
* All candidates will appear in swimsuits and evening gowns before the “Top 20″ is announced;
* Nineteen semi-finalists were selected by a preliminary panel of judges, while a remaining one is the winner of “Miss Internet”;
* The 20 semi-finalists will compete in underwear, swimsuit and fashion gowns rounds, all with great music and very original and upbeat choreography;
* The winner of the Best National Costume award will be announced during tomorrow’s telecast;
* As it has happened in Miss Supranational since its first edition, the continental queens will be the highest ranked girls in America, Africa, Europe and Asia/Oceania, among those who did not place in the top 5. To make it clear: if your favorite won a continental queen title, good for her, but she will not be the overall winner or a runner-up;
* The show is 2:30 hours long.
And who are the favorites for the crown? GB reporters have spent time with all candidate during the three weeks of competition, so here is our take:

Strong possibilities: Gabon
Could pull a surprise: Cameroon, Rwanda, Togo, Zimbabwe
ASIA & OCEANIA
Fighting for the crown: Australia, Philippines
Strong possibilities: India, Indonesia
Could pull a surprise: Myanmar, Thailand
EUROPE
Fighting for the crown: Latvia, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine
Strong possibilities: Czech Republic, Iceland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland

There are other contestants who have attractive faces and who are very intelligent, however, are considerably overweight for what Miss Supranational expects from a winner: a woman with supermodel profile, combined with the charisma a beauty queen should have.

One thing is for sure: placing in the Top 20 will be a victory, since this is a very competitive group!!
