Asesinan a la actriz Mónica Spear en Puerto Cabello

El periodista de Globovisión, Daniel Guillermo Colina informó a través de su cuenta en Twitter @dcolina_gv que falleció la actriz venezolana Mónica Spear y su acompañante en la autopista de Puerto Cabello-Valencia a la altura de El Cambur.

Según confirmaron fuentes policiales, la actriz Mónica Spears Mootz fue asesinada en la autopista Puerto Cabello-Valencia en horas de la noche del pasado lunes, luego de que su vehículo se accidentara en la vía. Extraoficialmente se pudo conocer que fue asesinada por delincuentes cuando intentaron robarla.

En el hecho también murió el ciudadano de nacionalidad irlandesa Berry Thomas Henry, de 49 años de edad, quien la acompañaba. Hay una niña de 5 años que resultó herida en una pierna, se encuentra hospitalizada en un centro de salud, pero fuera de peligro.

Lo cuerpos de ambos fueron encontrados dentro de un vehículo modelo Toyota, gris plomo, año 2002, tipo sedan, placas GBY 74K.

El cadáver de la actriz Mónica Spear fue trasladado a la morgue de la ciudad de Valencia.

La actriz se encontraban en el país para disfrutar de unas vacaciones y en la actualidad trabajaba en la cadena Telemundo.

En horas de la tarde se esperan las declaraciones de funcionarios del Cuerpo de Investigaciones Cieníficas Penales y Criminalística.

Five years old Maya Berry Spear, was released today from the hospital, doctors couldn't removed the bullet from her leg. But thank GOD SHE IS OK AND ALIVE. The little angel told her aunt (Monica's sister in the picture) that her parents fell asleep, that she was calling mom and dad but they were sleeping in the car.

Just writing this guys I am all chocked up.... Sad

I was so in love in her, I always consider her as most beautiful Miss Venezuela so sad that her life ends up, she is so young ;(
Such a traumatic experience for a 5 y.o.girl, I hope that she will exceed it with support and have a nice life, poor kid

The attorney general's office said the minors, aged 15 and 17, admitted taking part in the attack that killed the couple and wounded their five-year-old daughter in January 2014.

Spear, 29, and partner Thomas Henry Berry, 39, were returning from a trip with their daughter when their car broke down on a remote stretch of highway outside the town of El Cambur in north-central Venezuela.

As a tow truck operator tried to help, a group of gunmen opened fire on the vehicle, killing the couple.

Ten people were arrested for the crime, including the two minors. The first three, aged 18, 19 and 21, pleaded guilty and were sentenced last September to prison terms of 24 to 26 years.

Prosecutors said the 17-year-old took part in the murders and committed aggravated robbery. The 15-year-old was charged with resisting arrest, theft and conspiracy.

In addition to their prison terms, they were sentenced to six months' probation.

The five remaining suspects are currently on trial.

Spear was Miss Venezuela in 2004 and competed in the Miss Universe pageant the next year, finishing as fourth runner-up. She was also a TV actress.

The killings outraged Venezuela and caused President Nicolas Maduro to move up implementation of a nationwide anti-crime plan.

The South American country has the second-highest homicide rate in the world -- 82 per 100,000 residents last year, according to watchdog groups.

Beautiful girl Maya Berry Spear (the late Mónica Spear's daughter) is now 8 years old and lives with her maternal grandparents in Florida, USA, because her paternal grandparents lives in England.
She will be a gorgeous young lady and the resemblance with her late father Thomas Berry, who was English is amazing.
A few days ago she was interviewed and she just said: PEACE IN VENEZUELA PLEASE.

May God always help this little girl thru life, because at the young age of 5 she lost both of her parents (both were murdered inside a car in front of her in Venezuela)

Yesterday Januray 6th, was the 4th anniversary of the murder of Mónica Spear and English husband Thomas Berry in Venezuela.
The daughter and only survvivor, Maya Berry is now 9 years old and lives in Florida, USA with her maternal grandparents.

May both keep resting in peace. Sad
